We used Whatsapp but right now we moved it to BBM as you can see in the edit. Just to make people minds at ease from sharing phone numbers

Question here, why not use the skype for group chats it is still very effective and the skype app for phones works very very well.

well, I've used BBM for quite a while and it has some useful functions like events and lists and so on that we could use for gifts or whatever

EDIT: for people asking why whatsapp and chaton? simple, because steam sucks on mobile
EDIT2: The group have switched to BBM so if anyone still interested to get in the group without a phone number I think a PIN should be fine.
