Havent played neither of their previous games.
My system in mid range (i7 950/5870/6 gigs of ram)
Which one you ld prefer to play first?

Skyrim is really overrated, it's a horrible RPG game and the story is mediocre at best.
While Witcher 2 actually has RPG elements, gameplay balance and a great story, oh and it's cheaper.

I voted for Witcher 2 to be the game of the year on the year of release on some gaming festival (don't remember)
But that doesn't mean Skyrim isn't good, and they're a little different too.

+1 - The Witcher series is like Fable for Adults, well excuted gameplay but challenging for some to master (the first one is better). Skyrim I found quite boring, but pretty none the less.

Absolutely, Witcher is a story based game where you can't travel back to locations you visited before. Skyrim is exactly the opposite, you can explore the gigantic world as you like, but the story is ... negligible!

Dig a little deeper and get a mod for that UI. Everything Skyrim has to offer has been modded so you'll find all the fixes for all your gripes.

Skyrim has freedom and when I say freedom I mean FREEDOM. You can do almost everything you want (and even more with mods). The Witcher 2, on the other hand, has an AMAZING story and makes you use your head (the books are just wonderful, fully recommended).

The Witcher 2, IMO.

I think you should get skyrim if you have a great PC you should play it on ULTRA everything maxed out and then add a ENB and alot of texture mods :3 i did this just for the mods but alot of mods have alos move over to SKSE which can be a pain in the ass to fix if you install it wrong but its around 50 mods that use SKSE in the moment :) but Witcher 2 is also great but i mostly like to move around in the world like you can do in skyrim :) i say buy skyrim if you want a open world to discover :D
