I recently setup my gaming computer and i was looking around the settings and it said my base score was at 5.9

Processor: 8.1

Memory 8.1

Graphics 8.2

Gaming graphics 8.2

Primary hard disk 5.9

What does this score mean?

The score can't exceed 5.9 if your HDD is small. It's really stupid.

well i wouldn't count my HDD as small since its a 1.5TB hard drive I got that due to 1. it was the same price as a 1TB hard drive so that wasn't a hard choice to make and plus i use it for gaming / uploading to YT

I would imagine the score is based on the speed of the HDD, not the size.

It's not about the HDD's capacity, but the transfer rate.

I have Windows 8 and I randomly found it under the Performance information and Tools so I would assume so

its the same unless you have an SSD and the score if you look at it carefully is "transfer speed (or idk how its called in the ENG version since i have FR) which means the speed that your HDD or SDD writes/reads with" and most HDD's don't exceed the 120mbps writing so don't worry about that score ^^.

and how the hell did you get past 7.9?? lol

I was just kind of curious about the score to be honest I know it does well gaming wise so I am not worried it's just one of those many little tools that it gives you lol

as Zrr00 said shouldn't the score of the tests be from 1.0 to 7.9?? 0.0

anyway like I said earlier, unless you have an SSD that score will not increase.

Err I thought the score is from 1.0 to 7.9...
Your Primary hard disk score depends on data transfer rate.

Pretty much useless tbh, if you are looking for real performance test for your PC go for Geekbench 64 and 3D mark test of your graphic card (ps: idk if all cards have in their driver CD this test, at least for my 4 previous ones it does).

I don't really enable it anyways I don't really see a need for windows aero. Plus I don't even think it fully works on my Operating system anyways lol

Windows 8 doesn't have aero, though it doesn't really need aero
