Ukraine claims hundreds of Russians killed by missile attack

Ukraine says it has killed around 400 Russian soldiers in a missile attack on the occupied Donetsk region.

Minutes after new year and the speech of the demented dictator, Ukraine hit military quarters in Makiivka. The specific number of casualties is unknown, but Ukraine claims it killed more then 400 serviceman in this hit, Russia claims it is much lower. But overall it is suspected the killed/wounded number is between 100-600 men. This comes not just from Ukraine, but also Russian pro-war bloggers who are getting once again getting at Kremlin for why they have allowed such a painful hit to occur.

Reason for the huge devastation was another incompetence of Russian military - they had housed personnel along with storing ammunition in the same building. The hit made the ammo explode and the school in which they where housed got leveled. Also the hit was made with HIMARS. The same HIMARS Russians claimed they have destroyed (more then UA even has) ... it would be funny if it wouldn't be so tragic.

Quite a huge hit either way as a retaliation for new year bombings of cities. Also Ukraine claims to have shot down all of the drones in the latest attack from Russia.

Roughly translated - Russian Central bank has sent out a letter to banks asking them to call in debtors and hand them military draft papers asking them to sign a contract for serving in military. If they refuse to sign them, banks have to call police and save the recording of it. And in case of being wounded the debt would be paid from the money received for being wounded. If the debtor dies, the debt would be paid from the "coffin money". According to Ukraine, Russia will perform second mobilization wave on 5th of January. That is from what I understand a suggestion from Russian Central bank. I don't see any specific source on this one, but its interesting.

Interestingly, if this is true, why would the banks believe it? We already see that Kremlin doesn't give a damn about killed or wounded. What makes them think the banks would receive the debt from the dead?

This time near Chulakivka, Ukrainian military claims another devastating hit on Russian troops

Ukraine's military on Tuesday alleged another devastating attack on Russian troops had taken place. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said around 500 Russian troops were either killed or wounded in a hit near Chulakivka, a town in Ukraine's southern Kherson region, on New Year's Eve.
"The enemy continues to suffer losses. It was confirmed that on December 31 Ukrainian Defense Forces hit an enemy troop and equipment stronghold near Chulakivka, Kherson region.
"Around 500 enemy troops were wounded and killed," the General Staff said.
"There will be more because we identify the enemy's locations," a spokesperson for the Ukrainian armed forces in the south said.
CNN cannot verify the Ukrainian claim. Moscow has not publicly commented on the Chulakivka claim.

Russian Forces Rapidly Running Out of Iranian-Made Shahed-136 Drones—ISW

Russian forces have used up 88 percent of their cache of Shahed drones, meaning Moscow's forces would have just 90 Iranian-made UAVs left at their disposal by this count, Ukraine's Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov claimed in a Twitter post on Friday.
