My mom has tried and failed quitting many time, and now she vapes, which is an alternative I'm pretty happy with.
I don't really know much about it, so I have no advice to give, but good luck!

Why would you smoke when you can play No Man's Sky?

Vape on, bud :)
Quit smoking 14 months ago and switched to vaping, and love it (omg so many delicious flavors :X)
I'm using a 60w box mod and a top-fill tank with clapton coils (highly recommend claptons for flavor).
No idea where to get it overseas, but I buy all my juice at vapewild.com here in the States. Awesome flavors and prices :X

It really depends on what flavors you enjoy. I tried several different brands until I found a company that is inexpensive and has very accurate and flavorful juices. I'd recommend doing the same to anyone new to vaping. There's a lot out there. For me it's definitely vapewild - they make the juices to order, they're always accurate tasting, delicious, and they used to toss in a couple free samples (at least until this new FDA ruling happened).
I tend to like my juice with a LOT of flavor, and vapewild has an option to add 50% more flavor (for $1 extra/bottle). I'm vaping some black jelly bean right now, but also like Vanilla, Apple Pie (cinnamon), Peppermint, and nearly all of the fruit flavors except banana. I even enjoy a little toffee coffee vape in the morning despite not being a coffee drinker. :X
TLDR: try a bunch until you find a brand you enjoy :3

Good luck!
I saw how much my father struggled while trying to quit, he did multiple times but returned almost as many, until he got a really nasty cold that made smoking taste really bad and since the cold was not going away he was off smoking for so long that he stopped for good. However the damage of smoking for decades was already done and he has breathing issues, specially while sleeping, and most likely other issues that we don't know yet.

Thanks! Hope everything's fine with your father. Smoking is something I chose to do when I was a kid and it's what everybody back then said. Your going to wish you never started... Well it took me 18 years and I wish I never did. For now I can't say that I really feel discomforts from smoking. What I do notice now is my taste in food is much better and my sense smell has increased

Well it does technically change the content of what you're smoking since there's no tobacco involved but rather e-liquid, which is basically flavor with nicotine concentrate. Less chance of getting lung cancer from the tar and other stuff that's in cigs but since it's a relatively new technology, you don't know what unknown side effects there might be

I don't have any advice, but congrats on the decision. Best of luck with it!

My recommendation: Stay away from any juice that contains Diacetyl. I've been smoke free for almost 2 years thanks to vaping, and I feel much better now. I use a Eleaf iStick 100W TC with an Aspire Triton tank (top filled) with juice from Mt Baker Vapor as they contain no Diacetyl, added sugar, salts, or artificial coloring.

Two weeks ago I decided that after almost 18 years of smoking something had to change, many people and doctors had already given me the advice more than once. Over the years I had tried quitting multiple time, always with the same result. I keep coming back to smoking. This time I started with what I mostly do when I hit a problem, do some research online and see what others have come up with. What I noticed is how much people have quit smoking by switching to vaping. I know it still isn't healthy but for now I'll take it. I already had a kit from few years back but much has changed and wanted something which I felt more comfortable with. So I ordered a new starter kit (ego aio) online and 2 days later it was here. I felt a strange urge for taking a final moment, enjoying a last one and saying farewell to an old friend.. the cigarettes, so I did. I haven't touched one since then...
I am currently using liquid with 6mg nicotine, my next batch will be 3mg and then I expect in 2 weeks 0mg. I used to smoke 25-30 cigarettes a day and I am happy how things are going. Maybe It's me but the benefits of not smoking (even though I vape) are noticeable.
I must admit that I am very pleased with my vaper, I know it's only a starter and isn't on high lvls but it does what I wanted it for. Helping me stay of the cigarettes. My plan is to get it down to 0mg and after that see how I can build of the use and eventually stop vaping also.
Since I am new to everything (the few times I used that vaper in the past are not worth mentioning) I would like to know your experiences with vaping, what brands you use, if you use and where you get your stuff (coils, liquids,...) other helpfull tips are more than welcome!
For Dutch people where do you order online for liquids, coils & others from shops that ship to Belgium?
tl;dr: obligatory gibs
