Fresh air doesn't agree with my lungs. There's nothing better than the scent of stale air that's passing through my GPU fan.

I go shore fishing to a local lake once in a while, mostly trouts, sometimes carp.
I pretty much mostly do it to chill with my friends and wouldn't even call it a hobby of mine, actually I'm quite a noob.
However if someone would ask me - enjoying a cold beer while fishing with friends certainly is one of the nicer things in life.

Oh yes. I love fishing. Been fishing with my dad since I was 4 years old. I have always been a daddy's girl. We do shore fishing, but I enjoy boat fishing mostly with him.
My dad and me always compete who will fish the most fish and the winner usually gets a prize we think of.
Nowadays since I am now a lot older (21) and engaged, 3 of us go fishing now - my dad, me and my fiance. We are still able to fit in the boat.
Best thing about fishing is - THE FOOD! The simplest food like a piece of bread, some meat and a tomato can taste way more delicious while floating on water in nature than the best foods in a restaurant. :)
Another plus with a boat during summers is that you can jump out of it for a swim or get dragged by it if you grab the end of the boat while my dad rows. :)
Anyway, usually we fish for pikes. That is our favorite fish in our family. Big and just a few bones. (I don't like playing with my food too much, because I am always starving! :D)
Though sometimes we rent a non rubber boat (I have no idea what they are called - the real ones with a steering wheel and all that) when we fish in the Atlantic ocean instead of lakes. Oh and the gorgeous fish we catch in all colors, though the bright ones are not edible of course!
Though the majority of what we catch in the ocean is mackerel. And there is so much fish in the sea, that u practically need no bait. A whole lot of fish just get caught by their eyes, or their flippers. (They probably are just wandering by, not having an intention of eating.) Seems bad I know, but food is food. :) (Don't worry we kill them straight away without any pain by smacking them on the heads, so they wouldn't have to be tortured choking.)
Ahhh, I love fishing.

me and my rifle(or sling :P, more silenced) walking alone in the woods, waiting for creature appears and then shoot. I prefer hunting than fishing because we must camp until some fish bite that thing(I forgot the name :P), killing itself, falling down into a trap.
Hunting we must know more about animals, their rituals(where they drink water, their tracks, etc), best gun to deal with, etc.
I'm not saying that fishing don't have those things, but in my head makes more sense.

I used to fish when I was a kid, but I was too young to appreciate it. Now that I'm an adult, I long for the chance to just sit under a tree with my rod and snooze the day away. Fat chance of that happening, now, though....

That's quite stupid in my opinion... i mean: you can have fun in just catching them but after that well keep them on your own and eat them, where is the problem?

I haven't been fishing much in the last 4-5 years, but previously I had done quite a bit, my grandparents owns a place in Delaware on the shore and they also own a boat, so did a lot of bay fishing and even some fishing out in the gulf stream. Also like to take charters out when I'm on vacation for cod and what not.
I actually live along a river, a really shallow river so you can easily wade out and fish/flyfish or you can take out a boat/kayak. Used to fish a lot here, but between losing interest in most things outdoors (I still love to kayak though, something I still do all the time) and what seems to be a big decrease in the bass population (was predominantly what you would catch in the river, can still catch other things though) has lead me to forego fishing altogether. This year was the first year I got a fishing licenses in quite a few years because I went to my dad's hunting camp for the spring turkey season and did some lake trout fishing in the one lake there.

never went fishing but i think i would prefer hunting. fishing looks kinda boring to me while hunting seems more active. maybe it's because my uncle and my aunt are hunting too idk

I used to go fishing with my father, we targeted Swordfishes and always on shore, it was a hard place to reach and we had to go through a private beach. We tried once to go on a small boat we had but we both ended up getting wet. I've moved away from the Ocean and we're not fond of freshwater fishes so we stopped, but that was fun. :)

Who here likes to go fishing? What species do you target? Shore fishing, or boat?
Personally, where I live. We have some of the best walleye fishing in the world. I target Walleye. I've do not have a boat, but you really do not need a boat up here to be successful.
