You sure about that? I hear 18 hours is the typical time it takes to go from never getting lucky to winning often, probabilities be damned. There's a theory that some have mentioned in dark rooms, sworn to secrecy, that cg has set an 18 hour variable in the code for the chosen few.

Except that entering a level 0 giveaway is more like rolling 60 on 10 six sided dices ;) I like the analogy though and it's just that. There's no 'strategy' except for increasing your level, doing puzzles etc etc.

Make giveaways of your own, get CV, gain levels, lurk forums for puzzles and trains, make friends? That last one is purely theoretical but the rest help you find giveaways that have fewer entries which is the answer you're looking for. Low number of entries = better odds. Public GAs are swamped with 1000s of people so dig your way out and up.

Getting on peoples whitelist helps. Also entering a group will increase your odds (they usually have less entries). I've never won a public GA so far, but I've won some from puzzles and group/whitelist ones.

Actually, more serious answer than above: Give away games. If you give away games, your level will go up->you can enter more giveaways->you'll win more games. It's as simple as that.
