Great story, thanks for sharing! My dad just turned 90 and he has diabetes and Parkinson's and some other ailments. He's hanging in there -- and his mother lived to be 107 -- but it's hard not to think occasionally about how much time he might have left, and also what kind of a life it is.
Anyway, I appreciated the story and the writing and I wish her the best of luck.

We currently live 3000 kilometers away from my father-in-law so we don't see each other very often. But because of this concern and desire to enjoy all the time they can together, she always goes there to spend a few months. I think if we both could, we would move there to be able to enjoy my father-in-law's company more (he's a really amazing guy and very sweet).
