Depends why you want to craft, but better wait for sale to see if event happens. Normal cards are pretty much worthless, in most cases you'd get more money just selling game-cards instead of crafting them.

If there is an event, it is better to save them up because you may earn an additional badge for crafting during the event.
If you want to get some money for the sale cards, craft them now and put them on the market within the first 2-3 hours from start. Their price usually halves in the first half a day.

Actually, if there will be a cool event, then card price will rise, as people will want to participate in event.
But it all depends on Event - if it's going to be "craft summer badge, get chance for free DOTA2/TF2 hat", price will rise high (omg, imagine card-droppable CSGO knife, cards would rise to like $1...).

Nah, these emotes are expensive because people actually buy them. This is why there are so few on sale all the time. I swear the dev gets more money from the market fees of these emotes than from the game itself.

Don't craft foil badges yet. When the event starts you'll know what to do. For now I think you won't get any bonus. Last summer crafting foil provided your team with 10 points instead of 1 for common badge.

1) Yes, you get Mystery Cards from crafting game-badges or buying them from market
2) Any card bought on Market gets "one week untradable, unmarketable" tag, which is stuck to items you get when you use that card to craft something
3) You can't craft Mysterious Badge yet and yes, you need 10 different cards to craft one badge (and judging by Gods of Random, you need way more badges crafted to get whole set on your own, as they love giving duplicates).

More or less, yes. In extreme cases, one card out of a set of six can be so rare that its price can skyrocket. I don't know what kind of RNG Steam uses, but it seems to be quite a terrible one. I can understand very bad bias on user level, but when you see the numbers in the market, it seems all card drops are uneven, which should not happen with a standard random generator.

I'm talking about the fact that, for example, if there is a set of six cards, you can see five of them on the market with like 10 000 people selling, and there is the sixth with 1 000 people selling. The drops are uneven, and sometimes very uneven. Not for all games, certainly, but you can see the gaps.

I predict a Prices Booth, buy tickets to the Prices Booth with gems, the more expensive your ticket the more expensive your gift can be (where gems = coal).
Indie Games inventories become gem compatible (for example: Sins of a Darkage) and Paid Mods (created by indie devs) for indie Games.
It's all about indie this year: hence the retro indie game pixel art on the cards.

But the trick is, level 1 cards wouldn't drop any more -> panic -> price increases.
Level 2 cards start to drop for everyone, mass hype and enthusiasm, with fear that these level 2 cards will disappear too later on -> mass hoarding, prices of level 2 cards remain as stable as level 1 cards once were.

In my opinion its because the last sale (Winter) mystery cards didn't really do anything special aside from getting a badge/background/emoticon which caused those cards to hover around 15c. People probably figure the same will happen for this sale as well.

Aye, Seasonal Steam Sale trading cards are always a big gamble. Typically, the prices start high and work their way down pretty quickly, and then have a late peak. But if they can be used for something more interesting, the price jumps around wildly. Personally, I liked it when contributing to your team meant you had a chance at winning a wishlist game. It gave me a reason to participate.
