Hey people, what's up? I just want to ask you a very simple question. Are you happy?

Are you happy with the way your life is? Are you happy with your work, your everyday life, your relationships, your health etc?

The final station of life?
Seek more happiness than necessary.
hate it when others take happiness.
lament that things do not go well for me.
The last place where such humanity ends is that station.
just kidding.:D

((φ(・Θ・。)Thank you GA♪(probably the stationmaster.)

I kind of have a problem with the options, because they seem founded on the idea that happiness = life is going well.

My life is enormously problematic. I don't have reliable work, I really don't want to be living where I am, and there are countless problems beyond my control that cause me no end of difficulty. Despite all of which, yes, I'm very happy indeed. I am profoundly aware that there are thousands of ways my life could be much worse - beyond which, I'm also profoundly aware that regardless of what's going on in your life, happiness is much more a matter of perspective than circumstance.

That's a quite different interpretation of meaning of words "happy" and "happiness", than presented by me a few posts below, but certainly I can +1 this message.

I've had better fortune, I've had worse. It'll probably improve later this year or maybe the next. Or at least that's what I've been working for!

Well, it's my life, and for all I know, very likely the only one, that I will ever get, so it would seem like a waste not to be at least satisfied with it, wouldn't it?

Happiness however is the word that we overuse. If you were happy all the time, would you really know, that you are happy? Or would you begin to feel, that what you were calling happiness, when you didn't have it, is just something very normal? Being always happy is as close to mania, as being always sad is to depression. It's not always the case, but most often both of those states are the symptoms of ignoring the parts of reality, that do not fit our mental stance.

There are things, that make us happy, and there are things, that make us sad. To keep mental balance we need to be open to both of them. Would you really feel, that it's normal for someone in deep mourning to be happy all the time?

We have the myths of anorectic beauty, everlasting happiness, eternal youth, that often drive us to do quite crazy and harmful things, instead of being just satisfied, when things are normal, when things are OK. I simply don't believe in building a healthy life on a foundation of being always happy. The right way for me, is to build the life, that you can be satisfied with, content with, no matter if it's the right time to be happy or sad.

Well, my life sucks right now, but being happy is a choice. I choose to be happy, because as bad as things are right now, being upset about it all won't help or fix my situation.
Attitude is something I can control so I am going to be optimistic and happy because being anything else just sucks! Ha ha!

Why no one ever asks if you lead an interesting life? I mean pigs are happy too.

In my opinion your life being interesting might lead to happiness for some. I think, an interesting life is a factor to being happy, not the result. More of a cause and effect in my mind. :)

Generally ok but I would not mind a small donation of 1 500 000 $ that would change my life into awesome life because I would have enough money to live my life without having to work :P

After three very rough years where i touched rock bottom, things are slowly getting better: i've found a job that, despite being very low wage, is what i've studied for and happy to work with and i moved out to live with some friends not too far from home. It could be better though (like not living on the verge of poverty, but i hope this will improve as well).

I have my ups and downs, but things are generally ok.
Thanks for asking!
For what concerns my work, I'm extremely happy. My family is small but great, and I have a nice relationship with my dear ones there. They support me and half of my work is related to my family (things that belonged to my grandfathers, I have no grandfathers now and my father is an only child like me, so we had to take everything they had). The other half of my work as a small businessman goes really well and gives me a lot of free time!
I'm extremely happy with my relationship, I've been living with my girlfriend for more than one year and she's a great person and an awesome girl! She's finishing her studies in order to work as a full time kindergarten teacher now.
The extremely bad thing that affects my life is health. I have to undergo ankle surgery this autumn and I'm extremely frightened, but I'm forced to do so since they have to re-construct the so-called ATFL, a ligament in my ankle that apparently is completely ripped off and doesn't appear in all the tests I did (magnetic risonance imaging, radiography etc.). Plus I've been suffering from a super hard to bear disease called CPPS (chronic pelvic pain syndrome), and it sucks since there's no cure so far.. and I've got other issues too, the most annoying one (apart fatigue and such) is my three-times operated right arm. This sucks for gaming too (luckily the long-term effects affected only the tendons of my right thumb, so I can type without problems since I don't use it, but I can also play with my XBOX controller as long as I don't stress too much those tendons).
So considered everything I have ups and downs but I'd definitely say it's ok, I'm happy, even if it's hard!
Thank you =)
