Hijack: The OP's wording may confuse. You should NOT save the code for future use, it supposedly has an expiration date within a day. After that, it may revert back to the $5 you paid. So redeem the code/s on your main Amazon account now, THEN the $10 value can safely be saved for future use.
Thanks for posting UJ.

Says it doesn't expire on the offer page and in your vouchers page.

I'm not sure if you're confused with 'within a day' with the actual time you can purchase the offer.

Saw this elsewhere "Just a heads up, the voucher page says the promotional value expires 03/20/12, so you might want to 'redeem' it by adding the full $10 GC balance to your Amazon.com account (per the instructions on the AmazonLocal site) before the end of the day, otherwise it might turn into a $5 gift card. - After applying the code, the $10 will never expire on the Amazon account."
But then also this ... "I just checked the description of the GC; also I called customer service # for Amazon local (the agent said they work for Amazon local + Amazon). They confirmed that by just placing the order the GC value will not diminish. The Amazon local site says: What You Need to Know: • Amazon.com Gift Cards (“GCs”) do not expire"
So, I guess either way is fine. In my opinion it would be the safer bet to redeem, unless you have some reason to need to gift/trade/sell the code at some point.

I don't mean to be rude, but is that a referral link?
The link here works just as well without the numbers at the end...?

This is the cleanest link without any city selected :
https://local.amazon.com/
By the way even if you create another account you can use same credit card only once..
Also you don't need to save the code just use it on your account and 10$ is added to your account balance it never expires.
Edit: I just noticed that code "B007KCX25Q" in the end of the OP's link is for the deal taking you to 10$ gift card. It's not a referrer code since I get the same code myself..

No worries.
Thanks for explaining, and no offence meant to the OP

So, can we buy Sonic Generations for $5? (gift card price)

And should have the remaining amount left over in your balance.

this gift card is like a Wallet or a Coupon? If it is like a Wallet, so I should have the remaining amount. If it is like a coupon, no :P
Edit: "GCs cannot be transferred for value or redeemed for cash." , maybe a coupon :P

This is not a coupon, once redeemed in your amazon account. It's amazon currency then, so I suppose thinking of it like a digital wallet works. Cash is physical bills in your hand, so you cannot go to an ATM and withdraw this money. You can go buy sonic with it and enjoy your remaining balance. Shouldn't be so stressful for you.

Once you redeem the gift card on your account then you have $10 credit on your account which you can spend on anything at any time you want. You can buy something for $2 now and then save the remaining $8 2-3 months down the track or whenever. In response to your question about it being like a coupon or wallet, it is indeed like an e-wallet. It's like loading money onto your account which you can spend whenever.

Thanks for the heads up. Bought 3 for now probably more later, since I use Amazon so much anyways.

Thanks, bought, now I´ll just have to wait for some tasty deal to use it on.

Thanks. Saw people at the Steam community claiming that they've bought K&L2 this way, thought to ask steamgifts if it's true or false info :)
And to answer rupek1995 - yup maybe am a bit stupid, but one can't know if one doesn't try to find out. :P

Some areas don't have it offered. I forgot which ones I read. Plus it was easier to link my location instead of 312314 others lol

Hm. Everyone who bought it recently didn't receive their vouchers, or just some of you?
Also, for example I know that digital downloads, even if being US only, can be bought as long as you put any valid US billing address and pay via debit card. Would that be the case for these cards too? People who tried and succeeded?

You just add the amazon gift card to your account. I am really sure that you can add it to your amazon account regardless of region and the next purchase you make will take out of your Amazon account balance.

Or you could say they also lost 5million in a day since $10 for $5. Though since it'll go right back into amazon that going straight back into their service. Genius. Newegg did this awhile back with Google. $20 for $10. Offer ran out and I wasn't able to purchase it. I was sad, but suddenly an email a week later saying I had issues and it gave me a code. based google

This was a special promo where Amazon tried to make Amazon Local more visible to the public. Marketing stated that they knew they would lose money, but that the buzz it would create for Amazon Local would be worth it.

I'm surprised that no one has said it. Once per account though. Save the code for a future sale from them.
