Thanks for the history lesson. Was there any love for the games that spawned 1-2 gifts for every activation like Gun Monkeys or Frozen Synapse Prime?

Not as much as for "The Ship" which, on activation, spawned two extra gifts. And each one of those gifts spawned an extra copy. At 5 copies per original activation, there was quite the flood when it got bundled.

That's how Gun Monkeys worked too IIRC. It was really hard to get rid of them to anyone who didn't already have 10 gifts in inventory so most just added them sneakily to trades.

I still have 12 copies of Dead Island: Epidemic in my inventory, and I'm sure half of them were from people offloading them to me along with other trade items.

If you have, you posssibly witnessed the rise and fall of games that became so popular on the site they pretty much became meme of their own.
Since I've been there for most of the site's existence (I joined less than a year after the site was created, and only a few month after the invite-only system was phased out) I have seen many of those meme come into existence and disappear into the night.
