The Steam price of Amalur is about $60, and $80 for complete, while the base price for anywhere selling an Origin key is around $40, and complete is on sale at GG for $15 right now.

Advice please.

Well, you can't trade this game from origin to steam, but yeah, maybe from other players - it;s worth to try

I personally don't see a problem with having Origin installed. I've had it installed on my PC for a couple of years.

Amalur is a great game, I loved it. $15 is a bargain imo.

The same situation here too ;) Amalur is AWESOME game! And it was worth to install origin and play this awesome game in Origin! And I still don't understand why so much hate towards origin....

If you really want it that bad, then I suggest go get the one from GG (even if you have to install Origin). I kinda doubt that the one on Steam will every go on sale.

This is a tad bit better deal (if you have that 5 bucks cupon) imo. I had the same clash with this as you do, but in the end i got it from there :)

This. If only I could buy from Amazon I'd get it in a heartbeat, even when I already own the base game. The DLC alone is $20 on steam.

I just found out yesterday that Origin have Twitch streaming feature. Kingdoms of Amalur isn't that great. Played it for few hours and then I never touched it again.

I had to debate this too when Mass Effect 3 came out. What I ended up doing was install Origin in a very restricted sandbox. That way Origin stays on its side of the computer and the things I care about on another!

Origin is fine right now, people are still hung over its previous incarnation :(

This.
Origin is fine now and they've ironed out most of their problems, and their regional pricing is pretty awesome. ($17~ ish over here)
Customer support is a @#$@# at times though.
Best Deal for you would be to buy it on Amazon, get the key and enter it on Origin and download the game through the origin client :D

Can't you just install Origin, download and install the game and then uninstall Origin again?

Or just buy it on Steam and pay the bigger price when you hate Origin....

Origin most likely works like Steam. You cannot play your games unless you have it installed.

Nope, only some newer games like BF3 require Origin, almost all other games don't require it (I have some games on Origin and none of them needs Origin running or installed). At that point Origin is better than Steam.

I didn't realise that. I think there are about 5 others that also require Origin. But yeah that makes it better than Steam. People seem to praise Steam too much and think there is not a single thing wrong with it, when there is plenty wrong.
