what is like to be a winner?

hi everybody,
everyday, i have to check my status to see if i won or lost.

to do this,
1-i log on first,
2-wait for steam guard mail,
3- enter the code,
4-click "giveaways" and then
5-click "view won".

voila, it says you won nothing, you are still a loser.

i had 850 entries, gave 1 game, won nothing.
so i need to ask you:
-what will happen when i win?
-is all 5 steps i mentioned above still required? or
-will there be flashing lights or any other information at the home page?
-will steamgift send me a mail?

i really want to know.
