i used to get games free from friends but those were the old days back when shareware was the common way of distribution ..... I also don't think there are hardly any games that are worth paying more than say $20 for but I'm still going to wait on a sale before I buy anything. I think the last game I played that I didn't pay for was copied to a cd from one of my old UPS delivery guys. He was really great :P I think that was about 2003 so I've been pirate free since then. I also only started buying bundles in january so....... I'm not really that big into that yet.

Some people rage against grey markets and piracy, yet, they made a store to close due to a glitch with Civilization VI at $18.

Although I do see your point, if what GR did (revoking keys and issuing full refunds to buyers) did break any laws in certain regions then the consumers (of that region) have every right to be upset. Expecting an authorized retailer to respect the laws of regions they operate in and/or sell to is not entitlement.

I suppose people would rather a store get bankrupt rather than miss out on that cheap cheap glitch

On Thursday, December 8, it was decided by Games Republic management and 11 bit studios board to shut down GamesRepublic.com with the end of the year.

Yes, the users on 25th on November foreseen that the store will close about two weeks later, and still got the games. What about not getting so hard into antagonizing people that you forget about how time works? There was nowhere a single banner with "if you buy this, the store will get bankrupt 13 days later" so maybe don't say that they *rather* did bankrupt it than not buying it.
(disclosure: if you reply in the angry way, then in case I'll get annoyed or angry and start drinking my hot tea too soon, then you'll be entirely at fault for my damages, as you clearly choose to answer with a comeback rather than caring for my health)

I'm not positive whether or not the revoke went through, some people claim their game was removed while others have said it was not revoked and that they still received a refund.

I certainly see both sides and I would have been fine had I been a purchaser that had their key revoked. With that being said though, it is absolutely not a consumer's job to ensure that a retailer's prices are accurate nor should a company be allowed to violate a law(s) to save themselves from their own mistake. This entire event only highlights the dangers of digital content, something like this would be absolutely unreasonable with a physical good.

I have no problem with piracy.
I just choose not to pirate myself. :X

Couldn't give two shits if someone else pirates.

Opinions may differ. What is a mediocre game for one person might be a hell lot of fun for someone else ^^ But in general, I prefer buying one game I know I will enjoy over a bundle of games I might never touch.

If someone pirates, it's their decision and to be honest, I might even understand them. For example, if there is no demo available, but they are unsure wether they might enjoy a game or not. Some are happy with reviews and trailers, others 'need' a demo. But if they do enjoy the game, they should really, really buy the damn thing!

I hope that kind of answers the question?

Oh, thought you meant Somalia.
I don't pirate games. I buy bundles or games I really want when there's a good deal on them. I'm rather poor so can't afford to splash $60 on a mediocre game, and I also like to get complete versions of games, which means higher cost and longer wait for content to be released and get a decent deal. For instance, the current Humble Civilization Bundle, I had already bought the complete Civ V in steam' s winter sale, but I still picked up the 3rd tier because I was getting the current complete edition of four games.

the pcmr stands united against the unwashed masses of console peasants.
every pc gameplay is better than gamepad gameplay!

and if your sister or gf enjoys mobile gaming...you know what needs to be done to restore your pcmr honor!

On budget, I'm hesitant to pay over $20 for a game, especially when I haven't actually played the game as well as not really a multiplayer person. Buying trash indie bundles is like cancer though.

The only one I don't have yet is the first one (although I did play a bit of it at a friend's house) and I bought the last two at full price. And I will probably buy Cyberpunk 2077 at full price because I love CD Project Red.

Did I answer the question? I don't want to be yelled at... :(
Also, thanks and bump!

Wait, if buying bundles means that you're not buying good games does that mean what we all suspect, that Devil Daggers is not a good game, as it's been bundled. :P
Edit: Oh I also don't mind if people pirate or not.

Having been on the receiving end of publishers, I do not have anything against piracy. I also do not have anything against buying products and supporting the developers/creators/artists.

I was downloading games when I was young, Now I can't play a game without buying it, I just want to have that feeling that I can play this game whenever I want and It's only mine. Now I only download games that I can't buy anymore. (like old harry potter games).
If you buy a game after downloading it and playing for a while It's ok, but if you only download games and play them without paying, then you are a bad guy to me. Sorry for my bad english and thank you very much for the games!
