Help please? How do you get to steam's gifts notifications screen?

when you send someone a gift, the next time you go to 'manage gifts and guest passes' it takes you to a screen,
that shows you all of your gift history.
this only happens once, for every time a gift's status changes (sent, received, redeemed).
i'm trying to get to this screen, without sending a gift first every time.

If people take your gift - it disappear from your inventory
