Couldn't find this anywhere in the FAQ and I have not encountered this situation before so I was wondering if it is against the rules to send gifts won to people with private profiles. Any help is appreciated on this topic guys thanks for your time.

You can send gifts, but if you want, send them a friend request and tell them you want to be able to see their profile to be sure they activated previously won games before they get their prize.

Some people just keep their profiles private because it reduces random adds from beggars, others to hide their own wrongdoings.

Haven't thought of that.
Even if not a rule, it would be a nice note to the FAQ.

Just because your profile is private doesn't mean you didn't win. :P

But like Delta said, I always add those with private profiles to be sure that they don't own the gift that I'm sending them, and other various rule-breaking disqualifiers.

Not against the rules at all, just send it to his email address it gave when they won.

It's not against the rules, but you'll want to ask them to de-privatize their profiles so you can check their library/inventory.
