In every game supporting it?!
Some games have "it requires VR headset" info but some don't. So I thought maybe some run without it.

I think Mullins a few comments below is right. What he wrote makes sense and it would explain why some VR games have note saying it "requires" it to play and some don't and just have VR "support".

It depends on the game. Virtually all VR games could run and display on a normal screen the way a normal game works; but most of them use the headset motion tracking to control the camera, and some use motion tracking controllers for input rather than using keyboard and mouse or a traditional console controller; so how well it plays will vary greatly.
I suspect there would be a large difference though; particularly for the horror type games. Having the game entirely filling your vision makes a big difference in how believable and immersive it is; but YMMV.

Aye, makes sense. VR headset is very expensive now tho :(

Yeah. Probably worth saving up for, if you're looking for horror, though.
I feel this video is a pretty good example of how immersed you can get in a VR horror experience (spoilers for the VR horror 'sitting simulator' The Visitor) (watch about 6 minutes; spoilers for other VR games before and after).

i think they mark games requiring vr headsets, like this one. when they have vr support it only has a tag on the right column.

Ah, that's what I thought too. Will have to test that theory, thanks :)

I think there are some games like Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes that support VR but where it's not mandatory.

Damn. Let's hope it's not the other way around "doesn't say a game requires VR but it does" lol.

It's not the first time this has happened. They used to add the MUST USE CONTROLLER banner to any game where the dev reccomended a controller over K/M until the userbase kicked up a fuss about it being blatantly wrong.

Not really, if the game released says it's a VR game, then you definitely need a VR headset. People were able to rip The Lab(latest Valve VR game) so that it can run without a hedset. It was terrible, because it isn't built to be played with a gamepad or keyboard and mouse.

I guess some Steam forum user will do it faster haha, maybe did already but not gonna look at the moment.

I noticed that lately a lot of VR games were released on Steam and among them a lot of horrors/walking simulators which are genres I adore. I have a following question: Is it possible to play those games without having the "VR hardware" (will they even run?) and if they will run what is the difference between them played on VR hardware and without? Does the player lose much? And if so, what exactly?
Hope someone can answer me.
