I just got done playing through Planescape:Torment for the first time. Amazing game. I would put it in my top 3 RPGS maybe even my top pick.

What is yours?

I have a pretty bad relationship with RPGs, I normally like them more the farther away they stray from the roots of the genre, so when it comes to my favorite be aware that it implies "my favorite RPG despite being a stereotypical RPG".

I'm a fan of a lot of late SNES era and PS1 era RPGs. Super Mario RPG, Final Fantasy 5, 8, Tactics. Parasite Eve and Vagrant Story.

If Diablo 2 counts I've played more of it back in high school and college than I really should have.

I have a certain fondness of Beyond the Beyond even though it's fairly average overall.

Baldur's Gate
TES: Morrowind
Planescape: Torment
DA: Origins (honorable mention)

In that order.

I always preferred Icewind Dale to Baldur's Gate.

Baldur's Gate had you swapping CDs every few minutes. Also the early game is harsh for newbs. Icewind Dale didn't have those problems.

Don't let me choose which baby I love the most. They're all unique in their own ways despite their flaws.

Except you, Fallout 3. You're a disappointment.

Witcher 3 and Final Fantasy X and FFV to start. I also love the classics like Divine Divinity, Fallout 2, and Baldurs Gate 2 (Though I am more familiar with the Dark Alliance variation.) There are many others, but I like conserving post space ^_^

LISA: The Painful RPG
It's a strange choice i guess, but i've never seen RPG that handle story and gameplay so good at the same time
usually story and gameplay in RPG's are separate from each other, first you watch a cutscene, then you kill some monsters, then you're going back to watching cutscenes
Here when you explore the world you get them both at the same time
The story is awesome: it's dark, funny, crazy and strange but really touching(btw it has balls to speak about some really dark themes)
The world ingame is humble but interesting to expore(not only because you're interested in exploring but also because the game is hard without some things that you find on your way, so you need to explore and game rewards you for that with really fun situations and supplies ofc)
The gameplay is something like FF battles, but some gamedesign choices makes this gameplay more interesting
The music is also strange but good and it really fits the world

I also love Divinity: OS, SW: KOTOR, Costume Quest(:D) and like Tyranny, Witcher 3, Fallout 2 and Elder Scrolls series
