Dota 2 What do you think about mute system?

It's bullcrap.

Dota has been fucked up since I started playing it,and it was in early beta test(2011)
so u just need to get along with it :P

pffft, you don't need voice or chat to communicate in dota 2. If you and your teammate are on a lvl high enough, you can feel for each other with pings, warning pings and the chat wheel. It is enough to communicate. What they seriously need to do in dota 2 is to add an optional region lock. I'm so fed up with players who complain about lag but queue from SE asia, South americans, chinese, ukranians, russians with absurd 250++ ping.

Personally, I like a game much more if it's optimized for no mics. That way, you don't NEED the mic, and you can still communicate.
Most users who use mics usually sound like "jmondguy, yoiuy dngri mnjoidsvn niszdg niomsdg." because of a bad mic, anyways.

Tbh, despite all the insults that you can get in games, I rarely mute people. But yes, I agree that a lack of communication sucks a lot. Even if they don't use mics, if they at least type in chat or use the chat wheel, that's good enough for me.

I muted everyone in the enemy team, play with a 5 stack.

Never experienced a mute this far. And I have been since the BETA.

I think Dota 2'd be much better if we had a Russian-free server.I've playing for 3 years now, never had a single game without a Russian.I'm not saying all Russians are bad game destroyers but 99% of them are bad.That muted players are 90% Russians and they don't speak English.They're possibly muted because they play on English server while speaking Russian.

Thanks to them, I have over 40 reports now.

or atleast one match where the russian guys speak proper english.

Having played with toxic players,it's much better if they shut up. They can ruin it for everyone even by just using the chat wheel(e.g. when spamming We need wards after they died).

Last time i played there was a teammate who commented all his moves. even the jungling and hitting the creeps.
so muting is sometimes good. but most times everyone is either russian or don't communicate.

This system is obviously not enough, people that get reported for abusing communication should get temp bans/get sent to low priority just like the other types of offenders.

It's fine, except when abused by teenager stacks.
