All is quite confusing yes, they should make some visual support for that...

Thanks for this very good explanation! I never understood how this works xD Now I finally got it :D
And thanks to HiroHiro and SexyBudgie, too :)

- Bought full bundle on first week? Buy it again and receive 3 extra copies! (Having 5 bundles in total, paying for 2)
- Bought full bundle after first week? Buy it again and receive 2 extra copies! (Having 4 bundles in total, paying for 2)
- This is your first purchase of the bundle? Receive an extra copy fir free! (Having 2 for the price of 1)
Don't forget to select Yes. Buy as a gift.
I think the explanation is clearer on the bundle when it is on Happy Hour.
Also, the bundle is a little bit more expensive when on Happy Hour.

Also, from what I heard, the first purchase has to be for yourself (not as a gift) for it to work.

Thank you for clarifying and making me feel not completely dumb :D

You're not the only one dumb. After a year, I finally got how it works :D

I've only ever gotten 1 extra copy, no matter when I bought it (always buying the initial for myself within the first few days it was up, then marking the next sets "as a gift"), or which week happy hour it was on. Tested this with a set and bought high tiers each week at happy hour, never getting more than one bonus set of gifts. Most times, I bought the initial bundles within 24 hours of them coming up on the site. Hoping one day to get more than one gift, as support was no help at all with this, even though it seemed obvious to me I should have been gifted more than one bonus gift set.

Did you know that you mus buy the highest tier in order to be eligible for this? You probably know, but sometimes people overlook this. But I still have problems understanding their system though.

I'm not a fan of the way how they explain things, but yes, If I understand correctly, you must buy highest tier in order to be eligible for the bonuses.

i can't interprete in any way. what they write on the site just doesn't make much sense. it even lacks punctuation. that's not professional at all. if you asked me to help me about it, thanks but i already know how it works, no thanks to indiegala.

I entered a support ticket quite some time back trying to get clarification on what in hell those sentences actually meant, and got promptly ignored. While the guesses here make sense.. it would sure be nice to have official confirmation. If hotbullet8 is correct above, then they should just start using his version immediately.

It doesn't make sense that you should get a free gift bundle when it is your first purchase of the bundle and that the first purchase has to be for yourself and not a gift. I don't understand that at all. I've bought bundles, for the first time, during Happy Hour and without checking "Is it a gift?" and didn't get any gift. But I can't check "Is it a gift?" because then my first purchase is not for myself and I am not eligible for free gift bundles.
Also, when I try to buy a bundle during Happy Hour that I already have with the minimum price for the high tier and with "Is it a gift?" checked I get the message: "Your Indiegala account is not allowed to make Happy Hour Purchases. If you wish to proceed, please write to our support team to verify your account and become authorized Happy Hour purchaser".
I've wasted money buying bundles during Happy Hour because I wasn't aware that they are more expensive then. And they do not mention that anywhere, those bastards. And the whole Happy Hour concept doesn't make sense and doesn't work for me.

That's IndieGala for you.
Terrible service on bundles, copious layout issues; fantastically awful customer support, no oversight on their giveaway/trades portion of the site, which is full of scammers;
Etc.
It's a horrible cesspool of a site :X

Hi I'm a slowpoke and this topic really helped. One more question to clear my doubts.
The purchase for yourself on the 1st week the bundle is up should be done during happy hour or any time of the 1st week?
Also, how do you know a bundle qualifies for happy hour?
I'd like to get those extra bundles for giveaways. Thanks for you help
Comment has been collapsed.
You never get happy hour on the first week of a bundle.
And yes, the first purchase needs to be for yourself, then all subsequent purchases (during happy hour or outside it) have to be gifts.
If you purchase for yourself twice, the second bundle will be permanently lost and only their support can recover it.

I'm not even a native speaker, but I cannot understand why so many people have problems with this. Let me try to simplify it:
You buy a bundle during the launching week for yourself, then buy it again later during happy hour as a gift copy = you get 3 gift bundles on top of the 2 you bought. (A total of 5: the 1 initial, the 1 bought at HH, 3 extra.)
You buy a bundle after the launching week for yourself, then buy it again later during happy hour as a gift copy = you get 2 gift bundles on top of the 2 you bought. (A total of 4: the 1 initial, the 1 bought at HH, 2 extra.)
You buy the bundle for the first time during happy hour for yourself = you get 1 gift copy for free. (A total of 2: the 1 initial,1 extra.)

Thank you for the explanation, it made this a lot clearer.
Have you actually tried this though?

Ok-so another question, if you are buying through happy hour gifts, how are you able to obtain 33 pieces of those bundles? You are not forced to send them to another e-mails or sth? You can send them to yourself?
Ohh-and since you said that 33, that means if I buy for myself whole bundle during the first week I can get happy hour gifts unlimited times (every next buy is in promotion as well)?
Comment has been collapsed.
During purchase, there is a checkbox saying buying as a gift. It even has a warning to check it during happy hour. After you buy the pack again, they will be displayed under your originally bought bundle as gifts which you can send as a bundle, or open the gift page and send the keys individually.
Also, you are limited to 40 bundles for a single package as maximum.
Comment has been collapsed.
How can you buy so many? Do you have to purchase the same bundle again 10 times to reach the limit of 40 copies or can you just pay more in 1 purchase and then receive multiple copies?
I saw on the page that they say that you have to pay xxx amount to gift more copies but I dont know how many copies you will receive then.

Thanks for this thread, I never really got this either.

Too bad we don't have a way to sticky or pin important posts on SG, because this is one that a LOT of folks need to read.
So many don't understand the HH concept, and end up waiting until HH to make their first purchase, or are unaware of Group Buys where they can get an entire bundle usually for $1.00 or less.
Comment has been collapsed.
one more thing to add is that you must pay with bitcoins or have your account validated for gift purchases , i didn't realize this and miss my chance at happy hour for a bundle i wanted to buy.
Comment has been collapsed.
So if I were to buy as a gift, I get the entire Bundle AGAIN as gifts (whether if I even use the keys myself ultimately, or do I need to have them sent to people for it to work instead of like in Steam where if you buy it as a gift you can keep it within your inventory till you decide to trade/gift/activate it yourself. ?) Because even if I buy them as a happy hour gift can I still use them myself if I don't happen to have the games or specific ones? Like, is it smarter to just buy everything as a gift and then decide if I want it myself or ultimately have copies to use for trades or giveaways on here etc? Still confused exactly what the gifts are, is it just the same copies of the games in the bundles, is it different games, are they random, is there a pattern, are they the full bundles or are they the just a random selection of some of the previously bundled games? It's just so oddly put.
Thanks in advance for your help!

how do we know exactly when it's happy hour? is there a indication if it's happy hour time on the site?
Comment has been collapsed.
Under the 'Buy as a gift' there is something called 'Check our gift packs!' with the following
Get 2 bundle gifts paying more than: $12.23
Get 3 bundle gifts paying more than: $17.41
Get 4 bundle gifts paying more than: $21.96
Get 5 bundle gifts paying more than: $26.52
Does that mean that if i for example pay more than $12.23 i would get double up on HH? 2*(1+3)

Can someone answer me this, Why cant i buy the bundle in happy hour whit paypal or credit card? it only let me use bitcoins idk what is that.
It says my account have to be old something like that
Comment has been collapsed.
Bitcoin is a cryptocurrency that is very secure and anonymous. I've had an indiegala account forever, so I haven't experienced this. It makes business sense, for sure, though. When your business is focused on selling game keys, you are very vulnerable to users purchasing them with stolen credit cards, and then when the card owner notices the fraudulent charges, they cancel the card and the credit card company cancels the transaction, and indiegala would need to pay the credit card company. And there's practically no way for indiegala to get the key back and resell it, so this is something to be avoided if possible.
Limiting new users to bitcoins could help prevent this to a certain extent, because bitcoins do not have the same problem, bitcoins are not refunded if the person that purchases them uses a stolen credit card, so once indiegala receives them, they don't have to worry about fraud, they just get to keep the bitcoins used in the purchase.
If you want to use paypal or a credit card, I guess you'll need to wait until indiegala says that you can. Alternatively, you could pay a friend who has an older account to purchase the bundle for you.

oh my lord, that sounds horrendous, i dont think i even remember the details to my acc since i havnt bought from them in 2 years, so if thats the case i prob wont be buying bundles from them anytime soon now that im back to giving away games and buying bundles because i dont care about bitcoins at all or even know how to get them, and i dont want to know
fuck the bad few that mess it up for the many good!

I can't fault them for intelligent business practices. There aren't many cost-effective solutions to the problem of the game key system that we have.
Also, you are my friend, and if you want to acquire some indiegala bundles for giveaways, I'd be happy to operate as the middleman for you. :)
