Where are the days when the devs of APOX sent him a message thanking him for the video of the game, regardless of how badly recieved it was by him. Sad to see more and more developers and even bundle organizers act so umm, "uncivil" these days. This is hurting the good picture that formed about indies in the last few years.

Yes, I hope that won't become a new trend. I sort of like the wave of great indies.

Is there a way to know for sure if that was not just a random troll?
Oh, God... I like TB, but he's just being a jerk in this one. He's bashing the game even before the start, and says stupid stuff like "he just run to me and exploded without apparent reason" when in the fact, the enemy was a suicide bomber... with TNT-vest on... Anyway, first game was sort of fun, and I guess this one could become new "almost Fortix" here.
As a journalist... don't trust everything you hear on media.

Tbh, I didn't notice that they were suicide bombers. And TB does have a history of not noticing the obvious. Like, that he was being shot at by 3 enemies behind him at one point in the review, and not by the one enemy far away he was shooting at. Still, the fact that those were suicide bombers leads me to see something else TB didn't pick up on: the enemy design is bad. If you can't tell what an enemy is about the moment you lay eyes on them, time to go back to the drawing board.
Now, while I agree that TB was needlessly derisive of the game, the game itself is objectively bad. I likely wouldn't touch it if it was free. There are better-designed flash games on Newgrounds. All Foreign Legion: Multi Massacre brings for its 7USD is a dubious implementation of its 3D engine and multiplayer netcode. It doesn't try to cover its failings in humor, it doesn't try to add a smidgen of context to the action, so why should one care about the game? So yeah. Subpar shooter.
However, a great opportunity missed by the dev team was to go all-out on silly, and turn it into a pure score attack game. Who can chain up the most headshots? Who can get the most kills from a single shot?

Not only does he have a "history of not noticing the obvious", he is suffering from dyspraxia, which affects exatly that (in his case). It's one of the reasons he is terrible at puzzle games. Yet, he pushes past that and always tries to be fair in his WTF is.
I agree they could have done more with the game. It was clear that the game doesn't take itself seriously, but they could at least have made it funny/silly.

Sakari Indie made a game called Foreign Legion: Multi Massacre (a sequel to Foreign Legion: Buckets of Blood). As you can see here, regardless of TotalBiscuit's opinion, this game is bland beyond belief. As a result, TB expresses a lot of criticism towards it. Nothing unreasonable, it's all valid statements presented adequately.
But now read this comment by (presumably) one of the devs:
"Hello Mister Totalbiscuit.. thank you for this great review.. I see and here you have a lot of talent. And people value your opinion a lot. But.. could you re-upload the video and turn the sound of the game on and the sound of that person talking all the time off. It really spills all the fun off the game.. If you like other games DO review them.. And if you want a refund because you did not enjoy it.. just let me know.. sincerly Pepijn from Sakari Indie." - pepijnrijnders
Well... just wow. Here is some of the replies to that that I agree with:
"This was not a good idea" - TotalBiscuit himself
"Aaaahhahaha do I sense butthurt from an indie dev who values their game a bit too much? I do think so."
"There is no fun to "spill"....instead of posting crap comments blameing TB for making the game look bad by talking, maybe you should try to improve your game"
"What? Are you saying he should NOT talk in a First Impressions? That kind of defeats the purpose."
"Instead of complaining about a review that people agree with (refer to like/dislike bar), why don't you start making another game, and this time do it with passion and dedication? I will even give you some ideas if you want. Now go to your room and be nice!"
"Furthermore, the commentary on this is, in fact, constructive criticism which you should probably keep in mind if you plan on creating something in the future."
"[...] Also TB has said many times he does not do reviews WTF is a first impressions video series only. Also you may want to keep that 7 bucks and use it to buy a thicker skin mate, It works for me and I worked on Ultima IX."
Your thoughts? Have Sakari Indie committed financial suicide? Was it even one of the devs?
PS: I checked their site and Pepijn seems to be most of the dev team. Whether or not it actually was his Youtube account, I don't know.
