No no no no! Never buy Alienware unless you like paying 50% more for cheap plastic crap.

Custom built PC is the choice, to help you further we need to know how much you are willing to spend.

Building your own would be a much better option than buying one. It may take a little longer, but is just that much more worth it when you find you've spent half as much as you would have otherwise.

Did just build my own PC in fact waiting for the last parts to be shipped to me, did spend a total of 600 euros, if i wanted the same PC already build and shit from a store i would have to pay 1500-2000 euro :) You get a lot more by building yourself.

Another advice other than build your own PC: Try to save as much as possible. Sometimes low/normal budgets can be solved by waiting a little longer, but it depends on your life. If you dream of a killer PC, wait for it, other than wasting the money you already have on one that you'll soon regret :)

So is the 690, but the price difference is something to consider.

I'd increase the ram. Its cheap these days and with all the security rubbish and other things you need to have running these days you'll use it.

He should check the pricings where he lives, as they're probably cheaper, but IMO that's the best setup in terms of price/performance, some nitpicking would probably make it cheaper/better, but that's a rather balanced build.

Alienware (I do not own one personally, but i have a friend who bought them almost exclusively for a while) have gone downhill since being bought-out by dell and i would not recommend them.
I am going to echo the other posters here and say that you should build your own PC. I built mine and LOVE IT. It takes quite a bit more time and work but it is worth the effort.
There are tons of guides on the internet with instructions on how to build your own computer. Newegg has a fairly good one.
As for my computer, i got:
Asrock Extreme3 Gen3 Z68 Intel Motherboard
2x4GB sticks of DDR3 RAM
Intel I5 2500K processor
1TB hard drive
650Watt Corsair power supply
AMD Radeon 7850 Graphics card (the Radeon HD 7770 is a very good value if you cant afford a 7800-series card)
And a new case complete with red LEDs and enough room to smuggle several kelos of cocaine in.
Total cost for the hardware was around $800
PS. For the love of all that is good, if you end up building your own computer, do NOT buy a Graphics card made by Powercolor.

Not all pre built pcs come with bloatware these days, please do some research before you start talkin pish. Mine came with just the os and I probly could have built it for less than I paid for it but I couldn't be arsed with the hassle. I ordered it, it was delivered a few days later and within minutes it was set up and good to go. If you know what you're doing and are comfortable with it then by all means build it yourself, if not then order a top quality pre built.

Don't buy a Pre-Build PC from Alienware or something like that. They have solid quality, but the prices are a joke. Build it buy yourself. If you don't know how to, ask a friend or try to find a shop where you can buy all parts and they will put it together for you before they ship it for extra ~20€.
= Thats the best Performance you can get for ~500€

i3 and i5 are weak CPU's go for i7 instead, also in this configuration there is too little ram 8 gb of ram is decend in this times. Its good to have 16gb too as ram is cheap. Quite too weak power supply minimum 500W for such GPU. Hdd is overkill its better to buy 2x500 gb ones for system and backup or as junkyard.
