If not Build your own from scratch at least order custom. Order all the parts etc and a local computer shop to build it for you which doesn't cost much at all. Thats if you choose not to build your own.

Custom built PC is the choice, to help you further we need to know how much you are willing to spend.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Building your own would be a much better option than buying one. It may take a little longer, but is just that much more worth it when you find you've spent half as much as you would have otherwise.

Did just build my own PC in fact waiting for the last parts to be shipped to me, did spend a total of 600 euros, if i wanted the same PC already build and shit from a store i would have to pay 1500-2000 euro :) You get a lot more by building yourself.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Better question is, what components you should get, because almost everyone will tell you to build one yourself. What's your budget?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Another advice other than build your own PC: Try to save as much as possible. Sometimes low/normal budgets can be solved by waiting a little longer, but it depends on your life. If you dream of a killer PC, wait for it, other than wasting the money you already have on one that you'll soon regret :)

Building your own will give you more for less, pardon the cliché. You can build pretty much the best possible gaming computer for a bit over $1500 with everything at full price. Find some special offers on some parts and it's even better.

As your asking My price range is about £700-1400

Intel Core i5-3450,
Radeon HD 7850,
H77 Chipset Motherboard,
8 GB RAM 1600MHz,
Crucial M4 128GB SSD,
2TB WD/Seagate HDD,
Some nice case + PSU = £700. Unless you are playing in some crazy resolution, you don't need more power.

OK, I looked on some benchmarks of Radeon HD 7850, and it runs everything on full details just fine, except Max Payne 3. So I suggest to wait for $50 august price cut of Radeon HD 7870 and get some extra frames. Other games run fine.

Go with this build: link.

~1k and it'll pretty much everything else at 1080p. You can still afford another 670 so you can get that without upgrading later on.

why would you spend £107 on a case :S just chuck it in some metal container who cares what it looks like haha

Full ATX, allows for better cooling the future and more GPUs. For example, I went with the NZXT Switch 810 so I can do water cooling (and more GPUs).

Alternatively, if I use your suggestion, then this

Yeah you make a good point with the cooling, gtx670 in sli seems overkill yet future proof but hey to each their own ^^

Pfft, give a budget and they'll give a whole list of options you can go down on building your own custom PC that can run all those games and much cheaper.

you can build your own pc for 800 € including i5 2500k , gtx 560 , sandy bridge mainboard , watercooler h50 , 1 tb hdd , 64 gb ssd , 8 gb ram and a really good power supply unit

I'd increase the ram. Its cheap these days and with all the security rubbish and other things you need to have running these days you'll use it.

If you got the balls for it I recommend you to "build" you own. Or at least go to a webshop that let you choose all your components like iBUYPOWER (probably still more expensive that your local computer store).

Depending on where you live, you can also let your local computer store build it for you for 50 bucks or so. At the condition you buy everything from the same store.

He should check the pricings where he lives, as they're probably cheaper, but IMO that's the best setup in terms of price/performance, some nitpicking would probably make it cheaper/better, but that's a rather balanced build.

Alienware (I do not own one personally, but i have a friend who bought them almost exclusively for a while) have gone downhill since being bought-out by dell and i would not recommend them.

I am going to echo the other posters here and say that you should build your own PC. I built mine and LOVE IT. It takes quite a bit more time and work but it is worth the effort.

There are tons of guides on the internet with instructions on how to build your own computer. Newegg has a fairly good one.

As for my computer, i got:

Asrock Extreme3 Gen3 Z68 Intel Motherboard

2x4GB sticks of DDR3 RAM

Intel I5 2500K processor

1TB hard drive

650Watt Corsair power supply

AMD Radeon 7850 Graphics card (the Radeon HD 7770 is a very good value if you cant afford a 7800-series card)

And a new case complete with red LEDs and enough room to smuggle several kelos of cocaine in.

Total cost for the hardware was around $800

PS. For the love of all that is good, if you end up building your own computer, do NOT buy a Graphics card made by Powercolor.

Build your own PC. Don't buy a pre build PC. Will come with tons of bloatware and cost far more than it is worth. You will build a really powerful PC for relatively cheap.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Not all pre built pcs come with bloatware these days, please do some research before you start talkin pish. Mine came with just the os and I probly could have built it for less than I paid for it but I couldn't be arsed with the hassle. I ordered it, it was delivered a few days later and within minutes it was set up and good to go. If you know what you're doing and are comfortable with it then by all means build it yourself, if not then order a top quality pre built.

Don't buy a Pre-Build PC from Alienware or something like that. They have solid quality, but the prices are a joke. Build it buy yourself. If you don't know how to, ask a friend or try to find a shop where you can buy all parts and they will put it together for you before they ship it for extra ~20€.

  • Core i3-2120 Boxed or Intel Core i5-3450 Boxed (depends how much you wanna spend)
  • ASRock H67M-GE
  • 4GB Corsair 1333MHz CL9
  • HD 6870 or GTX 560Ti (more expensive, not so much more power)
  • Cougar A450 450W (400W may be enough if effiency is 82%+)
  • Samsung F3 1000GB
  • Tower like (Xigmatek Asgard III)
  • (Optional) Samsung SSD 830 128GB ~93€ (well worth it!)

= Thats the best Performance you can get for ~500€

i3 and i5 are weak CPU's go for i7 instead, also in this configuration there is too little ram 8 gb of ram is decend in this times. Its good to have 16gb too as ram is cheap. Quite too weak power supply minimum 500W for such GPU. Hdd is overkill its better to buy 2x500 gb ones for system and backup or as junkyard.
