Perfect World announced Torchlight Frontiers, a new entry in the Torchlight series. Apparently it'll be "shared, persistent & dynamically generated world" where you can "team up with friends & other players, or venture alone". I'm not sure what they mean by shared world, will it work like PoE or will you actually be able to find random players in the dungeons.
It's being created by Echtra Games which is lead by the former Runic co-founder and apparently has developers that previously worked on Diablo and Torchlight games. It's yet unknown will it be free to play or buy to play and honestly I'm not sure which one of the two I'd rather have it be. With F2P it might have bad micro-t system, while by being B2P it might not get a large long-lasting community like PoE.
I have to say I'm not really a Torchlight fan, mostly due to weak story and lore and small amount of good builds for each class due to good deal of skills simply being inferior to certain other skills. I did like the artstyle though, among some other features like having a pet and being able to fish (albeit fishing is nowhere near as fun as it was in Fate games where you could "fish out" equipment such as weapons and armors).
But I am looking forward to this game, taken they don't screw it up. After the constant stream of battle royale games (which is a genre I don't enjoy at all) and what not I'm glad we're finally getting another online dungeon crawler RPG.
