nah...it's just for courtesy. people won't have a greater chance of winning just because they comment. it's just "a nice" thing to do

It doesn't change anything but some people hate it when people spam "thanks" and other people just say it's a nice thing to do.

It's classy, and it kinda shows that you care.
It's even better if you say more stuff, not just "thanks".

Like others have said, it's mostly just courtesy, people are giving something away for free so I always try and thank them in some way.

Feels like a pointless gesture as many believe that it increases their probability of winning, not out of any courteous intention.

i feel that thanks are nice for my giveaway. I usually hate the individuals that don't take a few seconds to write a simple thanks however pointless on my giveaways. Though to counter that spammingness, i would sometimes attach a rule that says winner will only win if they do something besides saying thanks, sadly a few people don't read description and say the pointless thanks.
But, you can easily find spammers on fake AAA games.
and that is my view on saying thanks. I like them as long as they try to be different from the general thanks and i try to do that if the creator writes something in the description.

It's nice to show appreciation for the giveaway. Though I haven't won any giveaway where I left a comment so I stopped doing it for ones I really want to win.

Actually, it's a ritual to call an assassin to murder the giveaway creator if they don't win the raffle.

It's pointless spam but it boosts your comments/entries ratio and some people are really anal about that.

I get high on those comments

the only thanks i care about is from the winner. i appreciate if people take the time to type or paste something but ill never be butthurt if people dont comment.

I can tell you that when you have a giveaway open with 100 entries and no comments you feel like there is no appreciation for your gift.

I welcome and read all comments, and a page of 'thanks' is better than nothing at all.

If you were the giver-away-er?? would you read the 1000 comments saying thanks? (I read the first few 30 then stop)
