Let's say you make a game. How do you make sure nobody ever finds what it is even if, against all odds, they somehow insist on catching wind of it?

Oo

That just proves steam search sucks. Its often faster to use google search to find steam store page.

Well, to spread some name you should not google.

You could name your game Bearlicious.

Sounds harmless enough? I'd warn you against googling it, but who would listen ;)

That AAHAaahaaaaaah! game or what ever it is

edit: I'll keep adding them as I find them, good topic
"Caster" http://store.steampowered.com/app/29800/ (coincidentally, this was one of my first steamgifts wins)
"Burgers" http://store.steampowered.com/app/385830/
"Militia" http://store.steampowered.com/app/421260/
"Princess.Loot.Pixel.Again" It's just hard to remember http://store.steampowered.com/app/414290/
The fear and stalker games can be hard if the site's search function is weak
If "Town of Salem" weren't so popular then it could've been an issue http://store.steampowered.com/app/334230/

Speaking of which, did the xXx movies ever get a game?

I just solved a puzzle which involved visually reading the giveaways code in an op. The puzzle wasn't that tricky but it took me a lot of time until I realized that one of the letters was a capital o and the other one wasn't. As there are many puzzles on this site, it hink it would make sense to remove o from the code.

What do you think?

People who confuse 0 with O can't be trusted. They're going to delete The Internet sooner or later.

Just make a really bad name with a really long and confused title so its less likely someone will stumble upon it.

I think PieceOfMind is onto something with the really generic titles. But I'm thinking the best would be to give your game a name that's already been given to scores of other games, some probably more successful than yours. If we're not worried about being sued try "Tomb Raider" or "Resident Evil".

But, assuming we don't want legal action brought against our suicidal company how about "Chess", "Checkers", "Reversi" etc.. Tacking 'game' onto the end of your search won't help.

Changing the topic of the thread, but I really wish the trade search options were better. I even made a thread about it a while back, but there seemed to be a general lack of interest.

Trading cards for this one is also a pain. Typing iO in the trade window's filter box doesn't help a lot.

That also needs to be fixed. I'd like a way to just see the items for a particular game instead of having to use search strings.
