Saints Row 2 or Saints Row 3?

I'd go with 2, the third is too silly.

3 is better than 2 but (GTA)4 is even better than 3 :P

I hear a lot of port horror stories about 2, but often in conjunction with 2 actually being quite good... if it wasn't a port.
So as long as you're buying PC, I'd say 3.

3 for co-op 2 for single player

Saints Row 2 more seriously(not much xD) and have some things that not released in SR3. SR3 have better graphics and more interesting for coop. i think, them both worth buying, i played SR2 before SR3 and waited for release SR3 so much. but with SR4 not same situation :(

i prefer the second but i also played the first one a lot.
the first 2 was just a bit over the top but not too much then the third took the silliness to a whole new level and that ruiend it a bit for me

I prefer Saints Row 3 myself. I just did not enjoy Saints Row 2 at all, and I didn't give Saints Row 3 a chance for the longest time because of that. Also, I hear Saints Row 2 is just terrible on PC regardless.

The port for 2 is worse. 3 has less of a story but it's much more fun after you finish the story and screw around.

If you buy SR3, grab the Full Package, though you would still have to buy the bloodsucker DLC, unlockable DLC and the moneyshot DLC to have the complete Saints Row 3. SR3 is a lot of fun. Silly fun. SR2, better story, some nice stuff there too. But you still can't shake the feeling that you play a clone of GTA 3: VC or GTA: SA. SR3 stands on its own. Shame that they didn't add more of the gameplay of SR2 in it. It would have been the perfect contender for the title. As it is, Sleeping Dogs won that crown through about everything. If you have money to burn, buy both SR and add Sleeping Dogs later. You won't regret that.
