the site is called steam gifts I think we should focus on actual steam gifts, but there is always room for a cd keys section or something, that way people can judge for themselves if some guy makes 10 copies of dead island and claims they are retail keys

I like the idea, if it is possible via the webapi.
I would, however, make it optional and just display a "verified" icon on the giveaway.

Since Steam can now check what items we have gift-able, is there some way that SG can check what games we have gift-able and only allow you to create those games.
In a similar manner to how you can only enter games you don't own.
