Giving something back to the community. Nothing less, nothing more. I don't give a shit about CV, I just remember how happy I was the 2 times I won games on this site. Only fair I be on the giving end too. You might accuse me of being a hypocrite, but I know my reasons are pure and selfless. Haven't done it in quite some time though.

I see no way to find any form of hypocrisy in your comment / stance :)

Well, most people are almost never completely selfless. It's just in our nature to be selfish. We usually have a reason to do most things for others that benefits us as well. So when I said I did it only from the kindness of my heart, I can understand why the more cynical people(like me) might think I'm a hypocrite. But I really don't give a fuck about CV. I won games without being able to enter CV restricted giveaways and I'll probably win again someday, as most giveaways are open to everyone. But when I really think about it, giving away free stuff to people makes me feel better about myself. SO maybe my reasons aren't completely selfless, after all. But in that case, to be completely selfless, you'd have to be a nihilistic douche. Now here's some food for thought...

I give to my close friends willingly because when I get close to someone, it's easy for me to give things to people. Like I bought two gift copies of the worms bundle so we could play together. Other than that, I plan on making giveaways in the future to promote my gaming youtube channel (coughsLimeWedgeLoejcoughs) and then give away copies of the games I'm playing. I know how many times I've watched someone play a game and thought, "I'd like to play that." and eventually bought the game, so giving away the game I'm playing seems logical on multiple fronts.

True enough on the topics. Even those Fortix topics I like so much. :P

When I get a nice game from out of nowhere (or from a giveaway), it's nice and it brightens my day. If I give a nice game to someone else, however, it brightens their day AND my day, which is even better. Since receiving is out of my hands, I focus on giving. It's a guaranteed way of making me feel better when I'm having having a crappy day/week/month/year. I only wish I could give more, but my funds are severely limited. (
I'll tell you what's a bummer, though. When I make a giveaway for all of those excited people who write thank you's and talk about how much they hope to win the game...and then some guy who didn't post anything, has no interest in the game, and can't even be bothered to be online for the next five days ends up winning it. Half the time, the jerk doesn't even say "thank you" after receiving and activating the gift. That sort of response takes all the enjoyment out of making the giveaway.

I mostly give away my spare bundle keys on here and elsewhere. I'm not really getting anything for it. I guess I just feel like it. IDK honestly. ?:/

Well, after my first win, I wanted to give something back to the community. Cant afford anything expensive, but I do like to contribute since Ive had a few wins.
Besides, its really cool how excited some people get when they win. Sort of a nice feeling

CV. Hence why I stopped giving away once I realized bundle keys don't add even a penny of CV.

Lately I've been thinking why would someone buy a game and give it away simply because "yes" or with no reason at all.
I myself GA sometimes because I'm egoist. Yes, I do it for the pleasure of seeing the winner happy with his new game. :3
What does motivate you to giveaway games?
