Why did you join Steam?

Decided to join my cousin who played TF2 so yeah.

Valve published the beta and I saw the writing on the wall maybe even before they announced WON was getting the axe (don't remember the timetable) and I wanted to make sure my TFC play was uninterrupted so downloaded away converted my half-life install over and never looked back. Unlike WON Steam has never gone down keeping me from playing and it has crazy awesome sales so its been a total win.

I got l4d2 on playspan and my friend told me to join steam to play together or something lol

I bought it for the Counter-Strike 1 Anthology, after which I purchased The Orange Box. :)

me and my friend play l4d2 and my friend told me to using steam to play l4d2 because l4d2 discount 75%..best game ever for me (^o^)/

I was forced into it when I bought TF2.

I used it a long time ago when HL2 was first released, but I abandoned that account for a while and got back into it to buy the Orange Box a couple years ago.

I had just recently quit RuneScape after playing for 5 years and i didn't want to play another MMO...It was probably one of the best decisions i have made. But also around that time TF2 went F2P so i wanted to give that a try.

I wanted to check out Big Picture mode.

I got tired of losing game keys and computers dieing with the games on them... DRM FTW! well... steam drm, most others are just obnoxious.

Because Counter-Strike 1.6 was being beta tested. Once the Won ID servers got shut down, we had no choice but to abandon 1.5 .

I joined to buy the original Men of War game, if I recall correctly.
