Only Steam Support can help with your problem. We can't help you, because we are not Support members (sadly)

Once you report a hacked account, they lock that account. Only they can unlock it after you have regained control of your account. Tell them your account got hacked and you got it back. They might ask for some proof but you can start from there.

Be honest. Tell the truth. Admit any faults or errors.

And remember, it's not your account it's Steams. You just lease the digital content from them and have no ownership over anything.

And this is relevant how? Not trying to start anything but this doesn't help the OP unlock his/her account.

It helps to remind you to keep a calm attitude with Customer Support, don't get mouthy, don't swear, don't yell. They don't HAVE to give you the account back to play or unlock it any faster than what their normal support queue says. If the OP is trying to get things escalated, by talking to them the way he came off in his original post (the swearing and wanting to have his account restored to complete functionality right now this moment) he's not going to get any farther with customer support.

As someone who has worked in phone banks and has family members that are going on 15+ years in phone banks, the easiest way to get no help at all is to come off angry or to swear at support.

Also, the OP has stated his account is unlocked, he has it back but its not a "full" account. I would imagine he cannot trade or buy/sell things until Steam has finished it's investigation and restored anything they need to on the account.

+1 plus we can't help him, only Support can.

I think you read the OP's tone wrong here. He isn't mad at anything just a bit freaked out because the account is still not fully usable. Hence my confusion with your post. Yes, that is why I said he has to let them know he got his account back and might have to provide some sort of proof.

All MMO accounts are the same way.

Well, practically, on Steam you can play single player games, so it's more logical to actually OWN them, but a MMO is 100% on the server; the server goes down, you don't own anything (unless you are willing to pay for the servers).

unless you make physical copies of all the games on your account
they can lock your account but cant stop you installing from a burned copy of the game, and before someone says "thats piracy" no its not and the steam client even has a function to make these install disks built in.

Once you lose your account you also lose the rights to use the games associated with it thus making all backups 'pirated' if you keep them. Read the subscriber agreement again if you still think that you actually own any of your games on Steam if you lose your account.

i never said you outright owned your game, what i said is that while they can shut down or freeze the account you can still play the games. this is even encouraged with the client having a system in place for this very thing. also by not being piracy i meant it was attained legally not from a illicit download or buying a pirated disk from some tard on ebay. its not piracy since it was legally purchased from a provider, burned with the providers software designed for that function and not sold, traded, or uploaded to the net for others to download it.

No matter how you got the game once you lose the Steam account that it was obtained with you also lose the right to use the game. It's really simple. That's why it's a subscription. You might think the game is legally yours because you can back it up locally, but it really isn't. I see that it's moot to discuss it with you though, so I'm not going to bother to explain it again.

  1. What's legal - you lose the account, you lose the game
  2. What's right - you lose the account, you play the pirated game, you feel no remorse and police won't knock on your door (50% of Eastern Europe would be in jail if that were the case)

First: Try not to look like a 10-12 year old kid (even if you are),. Write full-length sentences, and try not to multiply exclamation marks, question marks, and other symbols. Now then, report it to Steam Support, describing the problem, and adding as many proofs as possible. For example: username, last known password, contact e-mail address, a game's serial that you activated. Basically you just have to tell them how it happened, and add the proofs. And please try to write in full-length sentences, and don't use 4 exclamation marks at once.

Yes he/she can, but if you write to an official Support, you may want to not look like a 10-12 year old, because they might just ignore you. Everybody prefers a well-written explanation of the problem than a childish screaming, that their account was hacked. And if he/she doesn't learn how to write properly, he/she will have a difficult time explaining themselves.

Change password to "12345621" because it's unpredictable, and wait for Steam support to notice your request in 2021.

Actually OMG! I just went through my previous messages to Steam Support, and I'm amazed. When Black Ops 1 got released, somebody stole my Steam acc, and changed the password, and contact e-mail. After that, I wrote a letter to Steam Support, and it was full of grammar errors and un-english sentences, so I'm amazed that they could actually figure out what I was trying to say.
So, OP if you try to add as much details as possible, you may be able to get full access to your acc :D
