Congratulations steamgifts! Woohoo! New feature sounds good too

I don't like the contribution over time idea... I could of given away 1.000.000$ worth of games 2 months ago but I won't be able to participate in a giveaway because I didn't contribute this month? ...me no gusta.
I always wanted giveaways that are only for people that actually gave games away... so that part is fine even tho I'm not sure how much I agree with the "worth part".
The time part I just really do not agree with.

+1 to this. I think it should just count total giveaway value instead of gifts send over a range of time

+1. But I guess it's possible to choose when you create the giveaway.

OK, there is one bigger issue that need a special attention. Have a look at this topic and follow the link to the giveaway. Hope I'm not the only one who smells something fishy there.
If I understand this right, you can buy 10 bundles for 1 cent each, give it away and you instantly have "given away games worth $52.40". Am I right?
Although I really like this whole idea of Contributor giveaways (along with this recent 400% increase of giveaways, god knows why this happens :) ), it unfortunately encourages abusing of bundles (just like during Steam Winter Sale).
I think there needs to be done something about gifting those "nearly-stolen" bundles.

Congratulations, Steamgifts! ^^
The new feature seems interesting. But I have some dumb questions:
The contributor giveaways are always public or they can be limited to a group?
Does humble bundles, Faerie Solitaire and other easily found keys count as gift value taken into consideration?

Greetings community,
To celebrate the approaching one year anniversary of SteamGifts on June 1st, an exciting new feature is being implemented called Contributor Giveaways. Contributor Giveaways will only be available for "official giveaways" for now while we're testing the feature. If it goes over well, users will have the option when creating giveaways. Feedback will definitely be appreciated as we work this out for site-wide use.
The giveaways will work by setting two variables: time and amount. These giveaways only take into account received gifts, including those from group and private giveaways, created prior to the contributor giveaway. For example, cg sets up a contributor giveaway for $25 contributed over the past 30 days. If a member did not contribute $25 within the past 30 days, then that user does not meet the criteria for entering and could not create a giveaway past that point to become eligible. They would have needed to create their giveaway(s) before the contributor one started.
We want to thank those that have contributed over the last year, it's been a lot of fun and we've seen some tremendously generous users. We even reached a few major milestones! We've rocketed past 100,000 users and members have submitted over 50,000 gifts totaling over $500,000. We hope the second year of SteamGifts will be just as much fun. It's the gifters that make this site possible and hope they appreciate this new feature.
Best regards,
cg
