one would imagine that steam would not drop items that are no longer on the store front or marketplace.

Well, you can still craft the badges and you can still trade them or make gems out of them, so there's that. :)

Too lazy to open or sell. That and I admit to being a virtual hoarder. You should see my stash in games like Elder Scrolls, Fallout and Titan Quest. >_<

Yeah. I swear in Morrowind, Fallout 3 New Vegas. my homes I used were SO cluttered I should be considered a level 5 hoarder. Think I'll reinstall New Vegas, at least, and see if that save still exists to take a screenshot of it.

In Fallout NV I love the hidden bunker mod. It keeps everything organized. A nice and tidy home. =P
L5 Hoarder is too much. At least the house owner gets free "rat on a stick".
Also in Fable there is a poster that says: "Feed your brat a Choc-o-rat" =D

Had really bad luck, reciveng fast nearly only the booster packs from the extremly cheap games or games from the giveaways. ( Have collected 99% of the booster packs that i have ever recived) Random booster pack as steam describes them is a "lie" ,its no random. Have played many games that was preordered or just releasen and got never a booster pack for them not after a while too (but was able to recive them).

I don't think it is a lie...
It's true that I don't receive as many "real game" booster packs as the "cheap trash" booster packs, but it does happen. Sure, most of the time it's some junk game where I already have the "level 5" badge, but once in a while it's something that wasn't bundled, and I don't even have a badge for it. :)
Remember that AAA "real game" badges are not crafted as often as the "cheap trash" badges... :) People feed their bot army with free games or the cheapest possible keys, not expensive AAA keys... :) People trying to level up craft the cheapest sets, so that's what free random booster packs someone else will get.

I believe many people expect boosters from random games they own instead of having a chance on a booster for a game whose badge just got crafted by another user.

You can also trade them with steamcardexchange (if you open them) so you can get some cards back for sets you still need.

Unfortunately, the http://steamcardexchange.net/ bot doesn't accept non-marketable cards. I'd be very happy if it did... :)
