So I am facing a personal dilemma for the new year. I am a completionist when it comes to achievements, only skipping multi player as it holds little interest to me. The 2 titles I am currently playing to 100% completion will reach me the 100 perfect games milestone on my profile but I am facing an ever increasing backlog. Should I carry on as I am or discontinue my efforts? I do enjoy most of the achievements as they cause me to play the games differently to how I would normally though there are some horribly grindy ones I have completed.
Some bits to take into consideration. My backlog of incomplete titles is 1303 according to Darkadia. Around 2/3rds contain achievements. My installed games (all from my wishlist) amounts to 120. I am subscribed to the Humble Monthly and this is where I get the majority of my new games now. This sale I have bought myself 1 new title as I have plenty already to play (+ any I may win here). All thoughts welcome.
Oh yes and the gifts

Happy New Year all.

Should I continue my pursuit of 100% completions?

Depends on what seems more fun and enjoyable to you, the feeling of achievement or that of discovery.
I personally only take to 100% games that I either love or are relatively easy to do so, I'm not much of an achievement guy, as I think some achievements are grindy and not really worth it. :P

Play what you want to play. If you're still enjoying the game, keep playing it and doing achievements. Once it stops being fun, don't feel the need to continue playing just for the 100% completion. There are plenty of other games to play, and you can always come back to a game if you get the itch to play it again, or if you lower your backlog a bit.

Always worth chasing achievements as long as you're happy doing it! If you feel its becoming a chore you should probably skip that game or try to not complete every game :) I have a few games that I go back from time to time to make progress towards grindy achievements, that way slowly I'll be getting those to 100% :D

Not sure what to say. If you enjoy getting achievements and working for that 100%, keep at it.

Bump. =)

Happy New Year s! Do you enjoy the game the same when you go all the achievements? If not, than you may want to skip them.

if you enjoy the Achievements, carry on; when it becomes an obligation is when the fun ceases.
as you are not unable to eschew multiplayer achievements, i would suggest doing the same for grindey ones - such achievements don't achieve anything but wasted time / are often down to luck more-so than skill (which is what achievements should be focused on).
as you said, achievements motivate to complete games and may spur one to play differently; don't let the numbers dictate how you spend your free time, though - always play for fun and don't keep yourself focused on one or two games to the point of aggravation - i would suggest having at least five games that you rotate through, to keep things fresh; of course, if you feel you've got what you wanted out of a game, suspend further investment in it.
thanks for the gibs, good luck and have a happy 2017

If you are enjoying it then keep getting all the achievements. There are some unreasonable achievements that are just too much work if you are not having fun anymore maybe you should skip those. Happy new year!

Not sure what to tell you, but if you like a game and want to play it more do it, but if not just because of some achievements do not think it's worth.
Happy New Year to you too kwagmire.:)
