CSGO: The New Scandal - Video
How Case Opening Sites Scam Their Customers - Article

First for the revelation that won’t come as a surprise to anyone who has used these sites or has any worldly experience. The rate at which users on the site won could all be manually chosen.

It's mostly an interview of the software developer for a few of these sites explaining how they work and the underhanded things that they asked him to put into the system.

I expect most people know better than to use any of those sites, but just in case, sharing this wouldn't hurt.

so, um, you can open a case on steam, or you can open a virtual case on a 3rd party website?

Yep. But this was apparently cheaper, so some people might think they were the same thing, just cheaper.

And we get posts of how to cash out from random CSGO sites pretty regularly.

It's gamble, even if they wouldn't change the chances manually to 0% wins, it would be still a noobtrap, like every gambling ever. They are designed that by chance (or in this case, by setting) the site/house has more income than expenses. Otherwise it wouldn't be there to do the shady stuff. I thought it's common knowledge that nothing good can come from these sites...
