A question.
Turbo Golf Racing is a game from June 2023 Choice. It's mostly a multiplayer game similar to Rocket Leage, but it does have a single player only mode that takes player across multiple maps and measures the completion rate with stars (and has 6 star collection related achievements).
Does the featured single player mode make this game viable for the event?

Hi, sorry for the delay in response.
Unfortunately, I will not be considering Turbo Golf Racing for this event. The time trials isn't the core game mode and not the main focus of the game. Please select something else for this event.

Hi Cj, just bumping the thread because I saw this annoying update regarding regional pricing for Ghost of Tsushima. Not sure how much this will affect your planned giveaway, but just wanted to give a heads up in case you didn't see it from elsewhere.

I saw this annoying update regarding regional pricing for Ghost of Tsushima
This cross my radar but didn't get a chance to dig into it until now. It's annoying to say the least. Looking at the countries list, this will have some impact but I'll keep the event as is. If a winner ends up being from one of these countries, I'll let future me deal with it then.
Thanks for the heads up and have a great week!
Edit: P.s. Seems like I jinxed myself with this one -.-. Back to the void.

And it is extra stupid because this is primarily a single-player game... Just locking out the co-op mode which sounds somewhat interesting, but is a very minor part, would make much more sense, but SONY don't need none of that "sense" stuff, I guess...

Welp... Guess I'm definitely not participating this time... "Thanks" Sony...

Oh poops, I loved what I played of Ghost from my local library, and am pretty excited about the Steam version, so I'm glad it's one of the 2 month things since I've been slacking on checking these, but also now I have to try and get through the games quite quickly and I'm not sure if I have enough fast ones, lol.
Oh well, having a job makes it harder for me to get through these events, but at the same time, I could afford to buy it myself now, since I'm sure it's worth it. XD
Will probably miss the Playstation Controller features, though, it sounds like to get all the reactive effects and sounds through the DualSense, it needs a wired connection, which is kinda anoying. :/

Wasteland 3
Unfortunately I didn't like Wasteland 3 much. RPG's are my favourite genre, but it's hard to hard to name even one thing that W3 does relatively well in comparison to other games. I'm not even sure if it's better than W2. I guess mechanics are a bit more polished, but the overall presentation, art style were a let down. Strategic layer is still worse than in Fallout Tactics (and let's not even try to compare to 'proper' turn based strategy games). Oh and it's buggy as hell, especially the DLCs which restarted over and over again during my playthrough. 6/10
Prodeus
I'm really glad that boomer shooter reneissance happened, Prodeus is maybe not the best one, but it's fun nevertheless. Quite similar to Brutal Doom with great weapon selection (I absolutely loved both shotguns, they have the necessary ooompf to them :D). Sometimes there's too much blood on screen and it's hard to see what's going on at the moment, but that's my only gripe with the game. 8/10
Who pressed mute on uncle Markus?
Nice short FMV game. The plot was a bit predictable, but I liked the acting. Nothing groundbreaking, but it was ok. 7/10
Citizen Sleeper
I had really high expectations about CS, as I heard quite a few times comparisons to Disco Elysium (albeit with SF blade runner like overtones). Well, it's not even a bit similiar to DE (okay, there's a lot of text in both). Writing seems disjointed, setting is bland and the gameplay is painfully repetitive with absolutely pointless rpg elements. 4/10
Life is Strange: True Colors
I'm big a fan of the first LiS game (and the prequel too), so I was pretty sure I'd like this one as well and I wasn't mistaken. It's quite similar overall, but that doesn't mean it's bad. There are some great characters with nice chemistry and I enjoyed the story, even if it turned quite melodramatic in the end :) 8/10
Fashion Police Squad
Another bommer(ish) shooter on my list. This time with many terrible puns (<3) and some really difficult platforming segments. I'm not the best with the latter in first person games but it didn't spoil the fun I had with Fashion Police Squad. 7.5/10

Unfortunate what happened with the GoT region locks, but hopefully it doesn't cause any issues.
List of games:
achievements - "Easy Breezy / Total Snakeage"
Play time inflated a bit (8-10h) due to ye olde idler issues.
As far as platformers go, Snake Pass offers a novel yet difficult to master twist to the control mechanics. I appreciate that the gameplay mostly kept on target to platforming without trying to fit those slithering mechanics into something more out of its element like outlandish boss fights or minigames. The optimization and stress on the PC was a bit surprising but I suppose that's how it goes with early Unreal Engine 4 games sometimes.
achievements - "Side to Side"
With RTS, my brain is almost permanently on StarCraft mode, so it was a challenge to go to something else like this. The unit pathing and AI could be frustrating but once I got a handle on the building and combats, it was enjoyable enough.
Roguelikes and "beating" them can be a mixed bag, but Crawl with bots is forgiving enough that it can be beatable before getting any achievements. I stuck around for a bit to explore the mechanics, and the core concept of constantly alternating between hero and antagonizing monsters/trap controllers was unique for sure. It's something that would likely be more fun with local co-op, as it could get a bit tedious with bots, but I appreciate how indie games can explore new ways to play.
achievements - "Look Forward to It" / "Ample EX" / "Heart to Heart" / "Gag Order"
In the wide catalog of wacky ArcSys anime fighters, BlazBlue has generally been my favorite since the original Calamity Trigger reached the U.S. in 2009, although Guilty Gear's shameless dad-rock aesthetic has appeal as well. The story mode is definitely the most fleshed out in ArcSys offerings, and the control scheme does a good job of being accessible.
achievements - "The end of an adventure"
Speaking of platformers, Effie is a pleasant enough mascot platformer. Surfing around the hub world at high speeds was a welcome addition to help break the gameplay up.
achievements - "Closure"
There have been many complaints about the pace at which Beyond Eyes moves, but I felt it was mostly understandable. I wish the brightness was a bit less harsh on the eyes, but it makes sense for a game about a blind child to be a bit visually arresting in more ways than one.

*I manually backed up my save files, 'cause the game deletes them after the end. That's why I got all the endings and missing collectibles so quickly without replaying the whole game.
**I had some internet issues while playing this game, so I got several achievements at the same time when my internet connection was restored.

Hello and welcome to the madness!
The challenge is simple: Play and beat any 6 games, starting today, that have been featured in any given Humble Monthly/Choice bundle in two months.
The prize: 2x Ghost of Tsushima DIRECTOR'S CUT
Note: This means I'm giving away two copies of the game and will have 2 winners.
Game length does not matter and I'm not looking for 100% achievement runs. So long as you play and beat 6 games, I'm happy. You can go easy mode and play a bunch of 1h games or go crazy and play 6 +30h games. So long as they were in a monthly at a given point, it is all good.
Just post a comment with either screenshots/ achievements showing that you fulfilled the criteria and I'll add you on Steam and give you the link. Feel free to share your thoughts on the games you've played, but it is not required.
FAQ:
Why you doing this?
I hate money. That and I realized I've been subbed to the monthly for over eight years (yes it has been that long, I checked) and it occurred to me that I've barely touched the games I've gotten from it, let alone played them. Figured the same would be true for a few others, so I figured this is a good way to change that. A sensible person would probably unsub in this situation, but please refer to the beginning as to why that will not happen.
I've played the first X minutes of a game, can I pick it for the event?
No. You cannot have any play time or achievements prior to the start of the event. The only exception is idle time from farming Steam cards.
Can I play a MP only game?
No. It needs to have an "end" in order for me to count it as beaten, so it needs to have a campaign/story mode.
If a game was sold as a non-Steam copy in a bundle (origin/uplay/drm-free/etc), can I pick it as a choice if I own a Steam copy?
No. The reason being that those who own a Steam copy would have an extra option that would not be available to everyone who bought the same bundle. If the game was originally sold as a non-Steam copy, but Humble later provided steam keys to everyone who bought the bundle, then the game would be allowed.
Why six games?
The first few monthlies had 6/7 games in them so I went with that.
How long are you going to do this?
Until my credit card statements gives me nightmares.
This event "ends" on June 4th when the next next HB Choice releases, though the giveaway itself will end the next day. If you manage to finish game number six in between that time, feel free to post, but know that I cannot guarantee that I'll be able to give you the link in time.
Good luck, have fun and stay safe.
Thanks for reading, and never give up on your dreams..

Update #1
First, sorry for the late thread, been busy :/.
Broke a personal rule by making the prize a preorder title. Made the exception because it is currently the top wishlisted game on the site, it is a PC port of a popular game and Nixxes Software is working on it. Here's hoping it doesn't bite me in the ass
As mentioned before, I'll be unavailable from the end of April till about mid May. If you have any questions about a game's eligibility, please ask about it as soon as possible so that I can give you adequate time to play/repick. I'm hoping to send out invites around mid May but you are free to post before that.
