Alright, thanks. I just get kinda nervous with linking my steam account to sites I haven't heard of before. I was scared I would get banned or they would steal my account information lol.

the steam api cannot make your account vulnerable, if it is a fake api, it will ask your password, upload your steam credential to bypass the trade hold of a new machine and so on.
So you should only confirm that is your account and will be linked to the other web site account in a click, just like when you are connecting to steamgifts
In their TOS, they can permanently ban you if you are hijacking, gambling and thing like that (like the gamble website for cs go and other game) but other than that, you are pretty safe from being ban

Im a youtuber and im using it for like 2 months i get a lot of games :) but you need to have a good amount of twitch followers or youtube subs, otherwise you get 1 crap game per week and i dont recommend it

As others have already said, using the Steam login API is safe. Just really make sure that you never actually try to log in anywhere other than Steam with your Steam username and password. And also, if a site uses the API and you click on it and it redirects you to Steam, and there's a login screen, MAKE SURE IT'S ACTUALLY THE STEAM WEBSITE! One of the common ways to steal logins is to have the API login redirect you to a fake Steam login, usually well crafted enough to deceive. So just navigate to Steam manually, log in, then use the API.
