I don't see that clause in Humble Bundle's TOS. Could you point out the applicable paragraph for us? (And other retailers that you know of.) Thanks!

Authorised retailers like Humble, Fanatical, and GMG definitely don't do this. I can only assume veebles uses some shady sites.

I was victim of a revoked key on Fanatical recently. Resellers can't monitor every action of a dev/publisher they do business with. iirc there's even a clause in their ToS asking you to reveal and claim a key asap to avoid issues.

Humble doesn't allocate you a key when you buy a bundle though. So if you buy a bundle and Humble stops selling that game nor has any keys, you will no longer be able to redeem that game. For example, Savage Lands.

Wow that's actually worrying especially if it covers Humble. But I have used keys recently which were bought over a year ago. Its a horrible ToS because it's like buying something and if you don't choose to use it, it is taken back without your money being refunded.

Also surely the ToS should only be active from the point it was introduced onwards and not backdated to keys purchased before the ToS was in effect?

My understanding with Humble is that keys aren't actually given out until they are revealed. Since they often have a finite number of keys available for a specific game, it is possible for them to sell out of them if you leave it unrevealed for a significant period of time. That is why they recommend you claim them as soon as possible. I don't know if other sites (like Fanatical) work the same way, but it would not surprise me if they did.

Buying usually on GamersGate. They don't do this, thankfully.

It was so gooooood, got a lot of "free games" from accumulatin BlueCoins over time. I actually prefered their old interface. This new one doesn't have discount % filter, and feels weird, idk.

I write all of my keys in a notepad and save it in my files :)
I would recommend that to anyone, and not just with humble bundle keys, everything.

Notepad is a bit basic, maybe try at least a table in a word processor, or better yet Google Sheets to have it backed up in case your local files are lost.

Hi Maya. All good? Sorry to bother, but curiosity is one of my weaknesses.

You added me on your blacklist today, and the only comment I've made recently was the one on this thread.

I've been in and out of your BL for some time now, and most of it were due to me doing a lil bit of trolling on your blacklist giveaways (I do it 'cause it's funny tbh). Just wondering because I might have entered one of those again and forgot :P.

You don't have to answer if you don't feel like it, but I am pretty curious! I know that I will prob get out of it eventually lol

Have a nice night!

That's not really of any use to me tbh, but you're entitled to post in my thread nonetheless.

Also could you and your girlfriend, please DM each other instead of this nonsense. It's kind of rude tbh.

If you have a significant amount of keys that you're worried about I would definitely use Google Sheets to store and organize them, because it's free and you will have a secure copy of the file backed up in case something happens to your local storage. I use Excel because I usually get rid of my humble leftovers before the next month so I only have a dozen or so at a time, but if I was worried about any high-value keys I would use Google Sheets.

As a Data Analyst this is actually something that I ask people sometimes when trading. I do cringe when people say they use a basic text file, but hey it gets the job done. One person gave me an invalid key and they said "oh sorry, typo" and I asked what do you mean, you're typing this key manually? He said yeah, he takes SCREENSHOTS of the keys and saves the images, then apparently re-types then when he needs them... that blew my mind...

I just use my keys right away, either I activate them myself, give them to friends that want them or I give here in case friends don't want them either, within a few days of buying all keys should be gone so no problems here.

You should us the keys asap, because if anything fails on the chain you will lose your key and the possibility to claim it. If you see keys that are given away for free on sites like HumbleBundle, Alienwarearena and similar, most of the times they say that you should claim it before X day (usually 2 or 1 week) because after that they might delete unused keys or make it useless to avoid re-selling.

Excel sheet in a column next to my game list. But tend to not keep them for months, due risk of keys getting pulled.
Still happens anyway i found out 2 days ago.
