Reasons for blacklist...

I don't know if I've been blacklisted for breaking nr 10 yet :D. That was a mistake which I've learned from already and I don't really mind the blacklisting that much. :P

After a long and convoluted history of arguing in the SteamGifts Discussions against the abuse of the blacklist system, the norms and conventions surrounding the blacklist system, and eventually the blacklist system as a whole, I decided to stop using the blacklist system altogether to remain consistent with my conviction that it is a toxic means of power-tripping that worsens the state of the SteamGifts community. Though I strongly suspect it is a vocal minority that abuses the blacklist system, they conjure a rather convincing impression of the SteamGifts community as a whole being too irresponsible to be trusted with a feature like a blacklist system. Until this changes, I wholeheartedly advocate for people to clear their blacklists and oppose the feature, if only until fundamental changes are made.

Thanks for the giveaway, though I won't be participating, and well done on summarizing some of the more common "reasons" excuses why people blacklist others on SteamGifts. You might as well add "complaining about, or criticizing, the blacklist system" as another, since that has been a frequent reason why I've been blacklisted and probably one of the reasons why this post got me on a couple more.

27. It's became quite popular blacklisting members who won a game from you, so they cant win it again. They say they want others to get a chance

Yep, was bl'ed for winning a ga. No problem with that, but I couldn't even say thanks.
So thank you for "Eaten Alive" whoever created the GA!

I had one guy that did not thank me for receiving the game, that was really off-putting.
He also was very short about everything, was my first giveaway, i stayed but it could ruin the expirience.

Reason #30 - You see some Not Received marks on a profile of a user you trust and appreciate, and you know if he didn't deliver, he must have had good reasons.

4 such users just ended on my blacklist this way. Don't care what they did exactly, but I can guess. I'm not going to ask this trusted user for the whole story. And no, I'm normally not that trigger happy when it comes to blacklisting.

I blacklist all ,,train'' maker's, puzzle maker's, hiden giveaway maker's and giveaway maker's for group recruitment.

Some of reasons really make me laugh.

Can we please add #30 people blacklist because they are a**holes? let the blacklists begin!

If you blacklisted by 1 .. sometime his friends will blacklist you.

Because that still happens often enough...

• Voicing an opinion
• Posts any kind of comment
• Abusing giveaway comments to bother people
• Deletes a giveaway
• waiting 6.999 days to mark a game as received

Thanks for your list though. I've been blacklisted a lot when I was a newbie and made a wrong giveaway. Guess they assumed I was a side account trying to scam CV, so that's another point for you I guess.
