17 GOG Connect titles, including: Hotline Miami, X Rebirth, Anno 1404, Dex, Shadow Warrior (2013), The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing: Final Cut*, Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition, etc.

Eligible until Sunday, October 2, 9:59 PM UTC.

*Redeeming The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing: Final Cut will also add all of its predecessors; Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition includes the classic Baldur's Gate: The Original Saga. Additionally Shadow Warrior comes with the DX11 version.

EDIT: Anno 1404/Dawn of Discovery mix-up seems to be fixed, US citizens can now claim it too:

We added a bunch of new IDs, so please try again now. You may need to reload the page (Ctrl+R) first.
If it doesn't work, please send me [GOG support] a link to your Steam games library - this will let me check exactly what versions of the games you have, and see if there are any changes that need to be made on our end.

Thanks to jims9350 and stlpaul.

I think this hasn't been mentioned before, but at least Van Helsing Final Cut and Two Worlds are on gog connect for the second time, they were in the list when gog connect was introduced already. chances are other games will be on connect more than once, so if you missed syncing them you will maybe get another chance some day.

I like gog for what they do, I haven't spent one cent on their site but I have like 30 games in my lib because of promos and free stuff and now connect. although I have not even downloaded anything but one game so far I think the next winter sale I will spend a few bucks on games that arent on Steam.

Okay, let's get this straight. What you are saying that certain games I have on Steam I can also transfer to GoG. Right? And they are still in my Steam account. That's neat. Now why can't we transfer the games we have on GoG to our Steam account. Sigh. I can only hope. Lol. And thanks for the info. Did that and am very happy with results. You are very nice to let us know about this.

Simple: "What? STEAM does that? Again a manner to ensure his dominant position"

First thing first, GOG needs to have an API in order to let outside world knows about users' possessions there.

No, they don't have it, so can't.

Moreso, Steam is the king here, they don't need and don't want to burden themselves to do that.

GOG has no way to insert games into your Steam account. Valve had an OAuth-based key redemption service running for a while, which would have been perfect for this purpose, but they cancelled that, so the only obvious alternative is to hand out keys (which comes with all sorts of difficulties).

I recall seeing a GOG guy mention the possibility of a "reverse-Connect", so it might happen in some way or another eventually. It makes sense from a business point-of-view (in my opinion) in that it would drive some sales to GOG at the expense of giving exposure to one of their competitors, but Steam already has so much exposure that it's a drop in the ocean at this point. Technical feasibility is still a problem though.

And I believe they disabled the OAuth activation is because people were using scripts to brute-force key activation attempts. I remember reading about a couple games that had keys being mysteriously tripped as duplicate, with the developers having no sales record of said keys, which then stopped happening just as mysteriously soon after the OAuth activation system was disabled.

But I could be remembering wrong.

Oh wow - is that why? Thanks for sharing that. I had been naively under the impression that they limited who was allowed to use the OAuth system (rather than let anyone with an api key use it, like the OpenID login) to prevent exactly that sort of abuse. I guess I was just making assumptions. Maybe Valve should consider reintroducing it but with some extra security measures, like requiring the OAuth client to declare which appid the key is supposed to redeem, adding some hoops to go through before giving access, revoking or suspending if you try nonexistant keys, limiting publishers to redeeming keys for games that they themselves published, etc.

Looks like they fixed the Dawn of Discovery/Anno 1404 thing. I have Dawn of Discovery and today I was able to add Anno 1404 to my GOG library! :)

Tripped all three of these "bonuses" in my detection. Thanks for the heads up. Really wish they'd send out a newsletter or something for this.

Hey Zesty, I used the "Refresh" button from the middle of the page that checks for games from my connected Steam account :-)

You should always at least take a look, even if you are broke. During a sale is usually when a free game promo is run as well.
