Worth it?
added to my cart, saw shipping, changed my mind. i'm interested to try one of these but probably never will because i already have 4 logitech f310 controllers that work great and are much cheaper

Do you have any problem with the left stick? For some unkown reason it stucks a bit when i move it upward. I dont even use it that much or its that old.

i think one of mine isn't as responsive as the others pushing the left stick right, but the other 3 work just fine. no problems with any of them sticking

i don't use any special software just plug and play. i've used logitech gaming software in the past for other gamepads and joysticks though

as in the cable breaks? i sometimes wish they were wireless for the convenience of not needing to plug them in and not getting tangled, but i haven't had any of them break.

Steam Controller - 5.5€ -> Cool
Estimated total - 22,20€ -> Not cool
I don't even need it so it's an easy skip :)

nope, not really. A friend from same country just ordered 3 while quanity was available, he paying now 20eur shipping, if i select one shipping is 16eur. Also, about a 1,5 year ago when i ordered 2 the shipping for second was just +2-3eur, as it was in one order.

This should be a thing different by country then, because for me it was different: https://www.steamgifts.com/go/comment/93e5e1T

steam allows me to purchase only one controller at the time. i cannot add more than one to my cart. any ideas? fotr me shipping for one is 8 eur

I had $8 USD in my Steam wallet which covered shipping, so at $5 this is a no brainer buy for me!
Too bad I'm having a hard time selling a rare foil card that is in low demand, otherwise it could've paid for the controller and then some.

yea I could understand that. But they ship from EU too, in particular from Tilburg, NL (there's a link to a Shipment Details when you add the controller to the cart). So € 12 for a NL to Italy package is really too much. I have experiences with online shopping, too; and I understand they're not amazon or some chinese company that ship hundreds of containers per day, but it's still too much, imo..

Is it seriously one 12 for Italy? I live next to you and its 25.

oh it's from their official Support. I made a screenshot but it's wrote in Italian language but the Europe part is pretty clear

they claim to ship from Tilburg, NL..
EDIT: I reach that page by adding the controller to the cart and clicking the Shipping Details link once in the cart page (it's still possible to do that by first adding the controller to Favorites

meh, I would grab one to try it out, but the shipping is a bit steep for me. Still a solid deal though, but I don't really need a controller. Besides, I suck with controllers xD Never got the hang of controlling the camera angle with a joy stick.

that seems to be the journalist assumption (unsurprisingly). Rev 2 was leaked a while back, both the patent and even a picture in the valve website shows it since 2017ish... who knows if they are shelving all that work or not, though

"Yes, you can now buy the Steam Controller for just $5 plus shipping ($13 total for me), and Valve confirms that this is the last batch of these gamepads that will ever be made."

That phrase is kind of my point, that they don't cite an official statement from Valve, and interpret the "Notice: Limited quantity remaining" as the gamepad being discontinued "forever".
Here is the Rev 2 patent, from december 2018: https://patentimages.storage.googleapis.com/01/69/7f/e5c0594265db66/WO2018236966A1.pdf
Same as Rev 1, only with 4 grips instead of 2, different battery placement, force sensing touchpads, and usbc.
Some people believe this is the same as what happened with the Steam Link being discontinued last year, but in that case the little box was superseded by releasing an android app, so that any android device became a link. Some believe the knuckles superseed the steam controller, but I think that is a stretch.
I still have hopes we get rev 2

If you have a smart TV just install the Steam App. You can connect to Steam on your TV via the app.

This
And there is also no need to be in same wifi spot to play :) so you can play games on your mobile phone while away from home

It's shipping plus handling...basically their way to advertise it as "90% off!" but still sell it for more like 75% off.
