I've heard about that one...what exactly do you do in that game?

I must agree with Alpha Protocol. I heard a lot of bad reviews about the game, but when I rented the game to try it out, I ended up beating the game in 2 sittings. I was hooked on the game. I thought it was really fun and entertaining (gameplay wise and story wise).

I recommend to anyone going to play Alpha Protocol, or anyone who wants to play it again, to try it using martial arts and toughness only (with some points in guns for emergencies). I loved karate-chopping people to death XD. Of course, it's fun any way you play it.

You forgot Postal 3. It's sad Postal 2: STP + AWP DLC is better than Postal 3 :|

I do love postal 2. But I figured that was more last generation.

Orly? "Postal III is a third-person shooter video game developed by Running with Scissors, Inc.." "Running with Scissors, Inc. (RWS for short) is an American computer game developer based in Arizona."

Speaking of 16 bit games, Ristar is another underrated game (since it was from the end of the Genesis's life). I bought the Genesis collection and ended up playing Ristar and Fatal Labrynth instead of Sonic and Golden Axe :P

Rister was underrated? Everyone I know played it...I replayed it like 2 years ago :-P.

I'm not sure that it sold well initially. Most of the 1995 Genesis games kind of lost sales b/c of the Sega Saturn. I know that the first time i heard of was in the big bundle of games.

That's not underrated. It's very well known for almost all sites that i see as one of DS best games. I LOVE IT!
Comment has been collapsed.
Well, it isn't obscure (yet) but it has certainly been devalued. A lot. Considering that it dropped price faster than...something really fast.
Comment has been collapsed.
Okay, you seem to agree with most reviewers then. It certainly isn't a masterpiece. But I found it fun. Especially at $5 or less, it's got a nice single player campaign. Anyway, I've played many games worse than it, i.e. Dark Void. Couldn't stand Dark Void >.>

I've played Wet, and it's a lot of fun. Enslaved is amazing. And Folklore is...weird, but still good. I'll have to try some of those other ones.

Alpha Protocol - the game have so many problems that people need to understand why is so bad
Bionic Commando - horrible game
Dark Sector - normal game
Duke Nukem Forever - LOOOOOL, you lost all your credibility
Prince of Persia (2008) - really enjoy it
The Darkness - normal game
The Club - really?
Singularity - could be way better
Timeshift - so bad
Naughty Bear - sucks and sucks and sucks
What is underrated to you? That list just sucks if you are doing a list about that. You want underrated?
Valkyria Chronicles is the king of underrated this gen. Please, just go learn what that word means.
Comment has been collapsed.
Okay, I see you have a different opinion. I know about Valkyria Chronicles. I've played one and two. And I considered putting them on this list. But now, so many people know about it, that I think it has become un-underrated. And I never said any of these games were GOTY masterpieces. I'm just saying they deserved a bit better. Like Naughty Bear isn't a 3 out of ten, it's more of a...5. So you can go play what you want, and I'll go play what I want. I was just curious what other people thought were underrated, not what other people thought of my underrated list.
P.S. Alpha Protocol is amazing. Just had to say that.

I'm sorry but i needed to give my opinion about your opinion because this is internet ;) But for real, underrated aren't games that you enjoy. Are things that deserve more than what they got and in the list you made is impossible to grab a game and give to him more. You even say NB should be 5 not 3 but why would i want to give people one 5 when there are so much 6 out there (the game is fun in some moments but suck so much that just forget)? I'm not trying to destroy your opinion about those games just wanna try to understand better why those (i played all of them so that's why i feel confortable to talk).
Ofc i also have my games that i think should have gotten more but in the end if i really look to them and compare to the top ones and see their mistakes, i understand their mistakes and why they aren't underrated. Looking to my ps3 games, for example, i feel like Majin and The Forgotten Kingdom, Heavenly Sword, Folklore, etc... could be underrated but then i start analysing them. Heavenly Sword is so short, story could be way better, motion control is to forget when playing with little girl. Amazing graphics, amazing voice work but when all the things get the middle level i can't tell that game deserved more. And i can only say i have fun with them but i get why those games aren't more in the "market".

Well, you didn't have to put bad next to most of the games on that list :/. Maybe just complain about one or two. I wasn't making a universal list of the most underrated, I just wanted to see what people think. And I wanted to put out there what i think. And the inclusion of Naughty Bear is based on the fact that, while it's too flawed to be considered a good game, it isn't so flawed that it deserved to be universally panned. It is far Under the Rating I think it deserves. And in my opinion, all of these other games were Under the Rating they deserved. I loved Bionic Commando. I never played the original, and didn't have much expectation going into it, but it soon became one of my favorite games. It may not appeal to all audiences, include those who revere the original, but it is still a game which, in my opinion, deserved more in both rating and sales, than it got. Same for DNF. It's not what most people expected, but I enjoyed it. In my opinion, it's better than most reviewers cared to say. The Club has great TPS mechanics, despite being repetitive sometimes and having next to no singleplayer. But I don't care, I like it. If you are going to bash my list, at least explain why you think certain games deserved what they had, instead of something more, don't just write "horrible game" next to half my list.

Prince of Persia is underrated because of the name. The name was just put there to boost sales of the game, other than that the protoganist wasn't even a prince.

Overlord 1 was great game, especially (mostly?) if you hate all those fantasy setting and those good heroes - great enemies such as fat hobbit, corrupted paladin or dwarf loving gold a little bit too much. Great humour through whole story.
But Overlord 2 somewhere lost it, and wasn't that fun.

In my opinion, I would say Sleeping Dogs. I know that it's really high rated (84 and 8.6 on metacritic) but I thought it was absolutely amazing and had interesting and unique narrative perspectives. It also forced me to balance playing as a "good guy" and a "bad guy" in ways that most games really don't.

I don't see No Time To Explain getting nearly the credit it should.

1-Alpha Protocol
2-Binary Domain
3-Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning
4-Syndicate (So short game,but awesome)
5-Just Cause 2
6-The Lord of the Rings - War in the North (It's not that bad actually ...)
7-Divinity 2: The Dragon Knight Saga

KoA:R underrated? What makes it good? One of the worst RPG i've ever played.
Just Cause 2 may be underrated, just beacuse some people don't like sandbox games.
Comment has been collapsed.
Yeah, awesome game. The only reason that it wasn't higher in my list is because it still got good reviews and decent sales.

Alpha Protocol and Prince of Persia got to agree with you on that. I got myself the newest PoP Forgotten Sand for the Xbox and compared to the 2008 version I hate it. I like the open world and the art style alot more, even though it is not like the old games (which I haven't played unfortunately). Also I'd add Divinity II to the list. Pretty much every single Fantasy-RPG stands in the shadow of Skyrim (or Oblivion at the time) but I really enjoyed it, even though it was seriously unbalanced. Did the final boss fight in less than 20 seconds and struggled with it at the beginning..

Bastion.
I hear soooooooo many people saying "it has terrible gameplay" + "confusing story"+ "shitty indie game", when it's actually a great game with a great story.
Also- not really of our generation (more like '06, I think) is Lord of the Rings: Conquest. It went through all of the LotR story pretty well, even with a "could've happened but didn't" evil storyline. The graphics weren't great, lots of bugs, but I love it so much. Some of the bugs are hilarious (you could kill your teammates with an Oliphant, etc.), some were gamebreaking, even. But it's a good game.
Comment has been collapsed.
How would you even kill your teammates with an Oliphant? To my knowledge, that's a horn of some sort (made out of eliphant tusks). Unless I'm thinking of something else.
Though, on the note of silly bugs, Rainbow Six: Vegas has a sniper rifle that basically one shots everything no matter where you hit the enemy, so if you shoot the barrel of their guns, they will die O.o. And I see nobody complaining about those bugs :P Still, a very fun game (even though it surely isn't underrated. Plus, I doubt this glitch works in multiplayer).

If I'm thinking right then the *Olliphaunt is just a big war-elephant from LotR.
Either that or I'm stupid.
Comment has been collapsed.
Well, i was thinking of this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Olifant_(instrument)
But it's also an old way of spelling elephant. And a South African tank. And it could be the war elephants, I don't know much about LotR :/
P.S. Bastion is awesome, though it is...different. I haven't beaten it yet, though.
Comment has been collapsed.
Ah....... Yeah, Olliphaunt is LotR stuff, and I haven't finished the first book yet.... >.<
Bastion is amazing.
Nothing else to say.

Conquest was shite. It is the only game I have traded in in a decade.

Funny you heard all those things about Bastion. I always thought of it of one of the most Overrated ones. The game is nice and all, but there was so much hype around it that when I actually played it I felt kind of disappointed.

Just a discussion topic to see what people think. I play a lot of obscure and devalued titles. So without further ado my choices for the most underrated games:
So, what are your most underrated games? By reviews or by sales.
