Man.. a geforce FX card. I had either the 52 or 5500 as my first dedicated g.card. You like shooters and such, so I wont bother recommending PlaneShift (free MMORPG) very heavy emphasis on the RP.

Try Magicka. In my AMD Sempron 2200+ it work in medium. I have 30-50 fps ;P

Strategy games: Real time: Age of Empires, Empire: Earth, Red Alert 2, Warcraft 2 (possibly 3 if your computer can run it) Tiberium Sun.

Turn based: Civilization 2 or 3 (or 4 if your computer can run it (check can you run it), my old computer which had a pentium 4 3.0 ghz, 2 gb DDR 2 memory and a 8600 gt can run it at high w/o problems, yours might be able to at low)
Sid meier's Alpha centauri, Galactic civlizations.

RPG: Planescape: Torment, Baldur's gate (1 and 2), Icewind Dalem Morrowind, Daggerfall, Possibly oblivion if install Oldblivion mod, And the original fallout series.

Shooter: Any Half life 1 modification (quite a few players for the original counter strike if you want multiplayer) Possibly doom 2 (some people report that it can run decently at lowest settings on old computers) And the "old classics" like Quake, doom, ect...
Also open arena is great, it's free.

Also you may be able to get Deus ex Invisable war 2 to run on your computer, also check Gog.com (it's a DRM free online shop that specializes in old games. (with the exception of Witcher 2, it sells that too)
