Ubisoft's latest games won't be available on Steam for anyone [UPDATES!]

Anyone else saw this coming? On one hand they had some good games. On the other, trying to compete with Steam on the PC is just not going to end well unless you have a decent set up like Desura or Humble.

Those who already pre-ordered it, I'm sure it will be honored by Valve since it just gives you a Uplay key upon launch anyway, but I like Valve playing hardball like this.

Oh what a loss. Wouldn't buy ubisoft game for more than 5 euros anyway and it takes forever until price drops so much. Thanks ubi for not accepting my money. Aaargh!

Btw just look at ubi's official forums. They're overrun with bot spam messages. Those idiots can't even keep the forums clean.

It's probably better this way. I found it stupid that they forced you to sign up with their platform after purchase to play anyway, especially when that platform tends to impede people from playing what they purchased.

Just another day at Ubisoft towers. Shower of clowns. I'm not really going to miss reskinned AC or bad driving games. I might miss future releases along the lines of Blood Dragon and Valiant Hearts and stuff like that, but fuck em. And by the UK, I have a sneaking suspicion they actually mean UK & Ireland.

Kinda weird considering that a recent uPlay update made logging in via Steam an option.

In my experiences through Far Cry 3, Far Cry Blood Dragon, Watch Dogs, Uplay has not exactly... impressed me. That said, there were a couple of games I was looking forward to (cough Far Cry 4, The Division and Rainbow Six*), but now I might not get them. Can't really say I'm too surprised though, EA did something similar with Origin, pulling stuff and then releasing then-new exclusives like Battlefield 3 and then nothing new on Steam. If the games are popular enough, the publisher will do it anyway - they'll get sales whether or not a game is on Steam. I did not buy Battlefield 3 or 4 because they weren't on Steam, for example, and I know other people who did the same... but a lot of people bought them anyway.

Whoever has one these games in their Steam inventory is a lucky bastard, it will most likely go for a ridiculously high price. Maybe around 150 TF2 keys LOL!

They better not release Beyond Good & Evil 2 during this conniption! :(
(Otherwise -- I still haven't played/bought Mass Effect 3 -- still don't miss it either... but I'll probably buy it once it's on Steam in 10-15 years.)

Ubisoft can go suck a dick, to be honest. It used to be a solid company, but now it's a bunch of overconfident ignorants who focus more on the hype rather than making a good game.

meh, im not from the uk and i was going to buy unity when it got cheaper in the future.

Good thing they don´t make amazing games, just okaish.

The new Uplay games have also disappeared from the Steam Store here in Chile, but I don't care. Uplay games running with the Steam client have too many issues and I prefer my Uplay games for Uplay only... Although I prefer much more having all those games for Steam only and nothing else (:P)

Looks like I'll never play these Ubi games then. Just the EA. I still havent played ME3 yet.
