It's not an exchange. Also, with insurance, you commonly get replacement value (basically current value).
Ten years from now Midnight Suns might be valued at 10 bucks, so it'll be worth 10CV then for anyone who has given it at any time (assuming it doesn't get overly bundled, or given away).
The drain normally happens slowly. It would only seem to happen quickly to someone who is binge-giving titles that don't deserve their current value. The mods are not in a rush to change the status, because they can back-date the status.

If Icould've upvoted you, I would've but alas no such option so you get a comment showing my appreciation for expanding on my post.

Good riddance, don't let the door hit you on the way out.

It's silly; over time, it will show you that your game keys have lost value, indicating they are worthless, and your level will drop. That's why I'm asking about a more reasonable website. If I'm already dedicating time, and let's say I want to use it myself, the level is too low even though I'm adding keys, or it may even decrease. It's not encouraging to submit anything, to check if someone graciously acknowledged receiving it, and to write to the moderator about it. Why go through all of this when it's constantly being lowered anyway?

If you gave game away before it was bundled, your level will be ok.
If you already bought game in bundle, you will get 15% value of game.
If you claimed game for free... what you expected, getting levels for free stuff?
It is to keep fair to play conditions for everyone. Example - in past was one 60€ Hitman game for free. Users with bot mails gave away over 20 copies then. Such people would speedrun to level 10 for free with bots if it wasn't prevented.

Uh. I'd like to suggest to just check the number of stars beside the game when you're creating the giveaway?
* means bundled, so you get 0.15 the value of the game.
** means free, so you get 0 CV levels from that one.

i dont get it. isnt the purpose of giving, just GIVING because you want to give?!
well good bye i guess

Some may not understand what I wrote. If you're adding a key for which payment is required and it's not free, why make changes over time? I've read that other users experience a drop in level even though the value of their keys exceeds several thousand dollars. The fact that it doesn't remain permanent doesn't encourage adding more keys and dealing with the frustration when someone wins, and there's no contact with them. It's annoying. I think it's not just me who finds it irritating. I don't care about anything else.

Depends. If you buy game for 100$ that never been free or bundled, your points and levels for it stays at 100$ value. There is only a risk game developer decide change game price from 100$ to 20$ directly at store. In such case your value will drop to 20$.
I had such loweringt just once for giving away Elex when it costed 50$, now it cost 30$.
But unless it is some aset flip/trash fake game, price won't change most likely.
Shortly said - you haven't been robbed of level, cause you haven't deserved it as all games you gave away, you collected for free on other sites.

If a game has been free in some other place, it will not give CV. Simple as that. I am not sure what you are referring to with "Changes over time". Simply put - if a game has been given away for free on Monday. You do a giveaway on Tuesday, but the SG admins update the list on Wednesday, you will see a drop in CV. Respectively the team adds a game which has been given away for free when they have time. So it can happen that some games get added to the list of free games a bit later on. It is a very simple but effective way of fighting people who want to abuse the system and get levels from games they have not bought. (same applies for bundles)
Change over time might happen if the steam price drops... But IMO that's rather rare to make a big deal out of.

If you're adding a key for which payment is required and it's not free
Most games you have given away have been given away free somewhere...or really, really low price... You are the sucker here, buddy, if you paid for them...
why make changes over time?
It's done manually as it should and takes time??
I've read that other users experience a drop in level even
Yeah, just like in games (cs2, league of legends) ranks should be % wise and increase over time...
there's no contact with them
There is.. You can contact them on steam/e-mail..

You haven't read the rules/faq or you would know that giving freebies, games that you got for free from different sites, will bring you no cv, so no level.
Be happy that you had the cv for this games and the not deserved level for so long, till a mod had time to list the games in the correct category (= free).
You have still 5 games that are listed as full value but were freebies.
So expect that you will be soon level 0.
That you needed to wait on some users, maybe autojoiner accounts, to claim their wins is of course bad.

You should read rules/faq if you want to use this site. Or any site in general.

This is what applies to your situation:
What are "No Value", "Reduced Value", and "Full Value" giveaways? How do they affect my overall contributor value?
When creating a giveaway and selecting a game, you'll notice "No Value" games are marked with a double asterisk (**), and "Reduced Value" games with a single asterisk (*). If you hover over those icons, you'll see the effective date for the value adjustments. For example, if a game is marked with a single asterisk (*), and hovering the icon shows "Reduced value since January 4, 2018", this would mean giveaways created for that game on January 4, 2018 or later will receive reduced contributor value. Games typically receive no value or reduced value when they're featured in bundles, heavily discounted, or available for free in online promotions. Their values are adjusted this way to better represent their true value. Keep in mind, the asterisk icons are just for reference, and the value of a game can be backdated if we need to make retroactive changes.
Games fall into one of the below three categories.
No Value:
No contributor value when given away after the effective date.
Reduced Value
15% contributor value when given away after the effective date.
Full Value
100% contributor value when given away.
If you visit your profile, you can see a breakdown of your previous giveaways. If you hover over the "Gifts Sent" number on your profile, you'll see the number of gifts you have given away in each category.
For example, you give away three games. Game A is $10.00 and it has no value. Game B is $20.00, and it has reduced value. Game C is $50.00 on Steam, and it has full value. Once your giveaways have ended and the gifts have been received by their winners, you will see the updated values on your profile. In this case, you would see "Gifts Sent: 3 ($80.00)". This would show that you have successfully given away 3 gifts, and their current list price on Steam is $80.00 in total. If you hover over the number of gifts, you would see you have one "No Value" gift, one "Reduced Value", and one "Full Value". If you hover over the dollar value, you would see you have a contributor value of $53. It would be calculated as 0% of the gift with no value (0 x $10.00 = $0.00) + 15% of the gift with reduced value (0.15 x $20.00 = $3.00) + 100% of the gift with full value ($50.00).

I very much doubt you paid for any of those keys as most - if not all have been free at some point

Only one person responded to what interests me. So, I have confirmation. The rest either wrote off-topic or almost touched on it but not accurately. Since it's known that game prices decrease rather than increase, and a person who rightfully paid for something and received a certain level, rightly received it, why change it over time? To me, it's silly. Greetings to the haters who wasted their and my time and didn't address the main point of the discussion ;-)

Hello, when creating an account, I didn't know I was wasting my time. Spending time on creating gifts, waiting for reviews, and contacting moderators to change the winners to those who won't waste another few weeks waiting for their prizes to be graciously received and unlocked for further submissions. This site is a joke; I submitted around 18 keys, and my level drops over time as if I didn't invest my time, expecting to have a permanent level that I deserve. This level reduction is so frustrating that I don't see the point of engaging in this anymore. Why bother? It should be eliminated since the level can drop over time. For example, yesterday, counting on having another level, I submitted more keys, and what happened?
Submitting more keys resulted in a decrease in level. I hate wasting time.
