было 31 400 ключей, они выложили остатки которые не были распроданы. не будут они банить 31 400 пользователей. /
Was 31 400 keys, they posted the remains of which were not sold out. They will not ban users 31 400(google tran)

Sure, it'd probably take them less then a minute. It's not like they would have to do it manually.
Just take the list Codemasters provides and let the computer automatically revoke all those keys and disable associated accounts.
It's not as though they need to type in all or even any of the keys or do any manual work.

The one I got in a trade some time ago starts with an "X" instead of an "F". Guess im kinda save then, not even google knows my Key :D

I don't know why people are saying you can't get your account banned for using something like this. It's laid out clearly on the support page for "why can a Steam account get disabled".
Read it. https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=5406-WFZC-5519

I would like some real proof. The first link was 2 months ago and I read through the letter that codemasters sent out and I don't recall them saying anything about losing the cd keys. what they lost was stored personal info like emails. As for that list of 2500 keys. WTH is that? so far everyone who has posted on here says their dirt3 key doesn't even come close to those keys.
I WANT SOME REAL PROOF. DON'T ACCUSE INNOCENT WITHOUT PROOF.

Sorry for my stupidity but how could these keys leak out?

People on the Steam forums are saying the game is being removed from their account and nothing more. http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2098484

Then they are being very lenient... they can ban the account at their discretion because of this article

he gave me one of these keys w/out me even asking for one, and i redeemed it w/out even knowing it was DiRT 3, Am I in trouble? o_O

Depends on whether Steam decides to go on a suspension spree. More likely it'll just be removed from your account, but it's hard to know.
I'd contact Steam and explain the situation if you're worried.

Just did that, thanks... He randomly messaged me one and I was like "wonder what this is..." and activated it... FML. I sent in a support ticket and explained that I don't even have a big interest in the game and just want it removed if it's at all possibly stolen. :(

A while ago gave away a bunch of Metro 2033 keys. They meant to give them to specific people, but actually just listed the game on their site for free. When that happened, all the keys just got disabled and the game was removed from the account of anyone that managed to activate it. Hopefully this is treated in the same way.

Actually that isn't true, valve did nothing and everyone got to keep their copy of metro 2033.

Omg, when was this?! I bought a dirt 3 code from someone a couple of weeks back... :( Please tell me it isn't from this list... how can I check?!

yesterday I got a guy on the chat giving me a key for dirt 3, I thought I have won it from here, and registered the key without checking first, it was a stolen key for sure.
I have sent a ticket to steam support to remove the game from my account.
better safe than sorry.

2500 keys have leaked on a russian forum. There is a chance your Steam account will be suspended for using one of those codes, so you should probably NOT enter DiRT 3 giveaways.
Edit: Maybe they'll just remove the game from your account. Is it worth risking? You decide.
According to Steam's policy:
"There is a Zero-Tolerance policy for any violations of the Steam Subscriber Agreement and Online Code of Conduct. All accounts in a user's possession for any of the following activities will be suspended: Piracy or Hacking
This includes using an unauthorized ("hacked") Steam client to access Steam, attempting to register fake CD Keys or attempting to register a CD Key which has been published on the internet."
