half life 2 episode one

Hi.
Can you use the half life 2 episode one to play hl2 moded games.
like the Hidden: source

from what i heard, all the good half life 2 mods require all three half life 2 games. could anyone confirm this/

No.
Some require you to own a specific half-life episode, but I've never seen a mod that required you to use all of them.

You don't need a single Source game for it, just the Source SDK, which is available for everyone since TF2 went F2P. The source SDK includes all models from HL2, so you should be able to play all mods that don't require other games.

Edit: I have looked on their page and it only requires HL2, so you just have to download the Source SDK to play it.

IDK, it depends on if the game requires models from other games, the Source SDK only includes content from HL2. You have to look at their website (I saw there that it requires Episode 2), then you also need Episode 2, else you only see this pink-black boxes where textures are missing.
