Unfortunately, you are correct. As someone who has used Steamtrades a bunch, I would have to say that the features, filtering, and search options are very limited. It's not a bad site per se, but it could definitely use lots of improvements -- not the least of which is a separate database from this site, so that one doesn't affect the other. I can't tell you them the number of times that ST has been down in the past simply because of SG. It made trying to do some trading somewhat futile at times.

It's also for games, on the right hand side of the search page change the "Wishlist - Team Fortress 2" option to "Steam" (screenshot) you'll then get results for inventory items (including games) when searching.
A lot of game traders don't list all the games they're currently trading, so quite often I simply use the service to find reputable game traders & then browse their inventories :)
