Loadout can now be given away?

I logged in today and baaammm.. I see Loadout giveaways? The game is still in BETA and those keys are BETA keys which are not allowed to be given away, and anyway the game is supposed to be Free To Play.

So my question is, why is it giveaway-abale? o.O

It was, it came bundled with cash-shop items which is why the $20.
Similar to how Dota2 is $30.

Seems there is a start to it appearing in the Early Access part of the store, but we can't view the store page. However, it still exists, and therefore would have been automatically added.

And all those people will have their giveaways deleted for using Beta keys.

I just redeemed the key I got from alienware and it's labeled as "Loadout Retail" so not Beta. I guess that the game will not be a F2P afterall. who knows

Yes it was in Beta about 1 month ago when they put the keys but now it seems that they are all Retail. Try to look at your steam subscriptions

iirc, the retail tag on subscriptions just comes from redemption of a key, and doesn't actually reflect where an item was purchased or what state it is in. They're still in closed Beta, looking at a possible wipe of current content before they go forward, and it will remain free to play at launch. Any price tag associated with it is for additional in-game content or pay currency.

You cant say that for sure, many people got away with Metro 2033 gotten from the FB mass drop who made it in time before running GA's were deleted and the game removed from the list by the mods, same goes for Dota....

No,the time the mass spam of Metro and Dota keys started they got deleted. The ones that were not deleted were before.

Also: Ofc I cant say that for sure,thats why I used "probably" :P

When the mass spam outbreak hit SG yes they got deleted, but believe me a few early risers cum ninjas did get away with it, I could show you if I looked hard enough for ones who did but that will take some effort :P

Dota 2 and CS:GO have been temporarily allowed to be given as beta games (they were listed as exception in the FAQ, IIRC).

I doubt that the same is true for Loadout.
Also: Metro 2033 wasn't a beta, it's a full game.

And if you remember the Ubishop promotion (which also was quickly exploited), it was allowed to give 1 (one) of the games away on SG.

Try to understand what am I saying here, all I am saying is people got the CV for the completed giveaway for the games which were crackdowned later be it from free giveaways or beta.The issue itself is not up for debate.Though mods know best and I guess they are okay with the Loadout BETA GA atleast for now.

(Why did people claimed so many beta keys for Loadout, I still dont get that...)

I'm totally with you on this one. Giving away beta keys is not allowed by default, and as long as Loadout is not declared as an exception, those giveaways should be deleted.

My point was only, that Dota 2 has been explicitly allowed at some point, unlike Loadout.

either dont activate the key and tell the gifter that you didnt use it since the betas were not allowed to give away first place or activate it and have a "serves him right for ignoring the rules" mentallity.

For the moment I would just wait and see what support will do once they are on it.
