So I just found out that the month my comments spiked (only month I was actually very active on here) my blacklists spiked too. I must have been a terrible, terrible person.

pic: https://gyazo.com/cff9efe06e65a2aff4fa62fabd4f1b01 :3

I also found out that I have twice as many games as I have given (12 won, 6 sent), so I hope before the end of this month I will give away 6 or more games (forgot what games I ordered, also forgot if I was going to activate them on my acount or give them away, I am forgetful like that, but I promiss! atleast 6 will be given away :D). I remembered when I first came to this site I had no intention of giving something away, and I really wanted to win something. I now know have a lot of games I like to play and don't enter every giveaway I find anymore. I know how it feels to not be able to buy anything you really want so I hope that whoever will win one of those giveaways will really enjoy the game :3.

This is such a random topic and I don't have anything else to say.

EDIT: https://www.steamgifts.com/giveaway/XiYSJ/metrocide

More giveaways later, can only create 3 at the moment so I have to wait until this one is finished!

I'd have to say Fallout 1 only because it's the only one I've played. Some of. Even though I have Fallout 3 and New Vegas in my library. Backlogs are a bitch. And the desire to play everything in the "proper" order.

Eh, people blacklist for different reasons. Don't let it get you down :)
Also, FO:NV is better imo, since it feels more polished. Bethesda can't really make a good proper Shooter/RPG game.
Fallout 3 was unpolished, it didn't work properly on newer systems and it was lacking content. It feels as if the reason it's so praised is because it was the first.
Fallout 4 wasn't a real RPG anymore. It was an RPG-Lite with mediocre shooting mechanics.

Yeah, that's the usual reply tbh. I mean, it's valid, since nostalgia is powerful, but in an objective manner of looking at the game, I really do find FO:NV to be a better game, also it's my personal preference.

The number of people who have blacklisted keeps growing. Probably because of the ratio of my won games. I keep making giveaways, but I have generous friends, and I participate in puzzles for low odds.

Or it just could be the dog mafia blacklisting me because I'm a cat.

Rly ? Fallout NV ? Naaaah, Fallout 3 was the best. Fallout NV ended way to fast and the game end if you finish the story. In Fallout 3 you can still walk through the wasteland after finished the Story.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Yeah, but in all honesty, the ending in FO3 had no real impact. In NV it was on a grander scale, so it'd be almost impossible to implement in a proper way. Plus it saves before you go to the final mission. Also it's basically the same length, since it's main story might be longer, but the world is more empty and there aren't a lot of side missions compared to NV.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I agree with the ending yeah ... hm ok yeah i agree. But Fallout 3 dont got so extremely much sidemissions = it doesnt annoy you with sidemission here and sidemission there.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Ok, that's just a ridiculous claim. The side quests only pop up if you take the side quests. You have to ask a specific question that will 90% of the time lead you to a side quest being activated. There were no quests that popped up automatically. Only the main quests. Also, the point of an RPG is to go into a role. And a person usually has some woes, especially in a post-apocalyptic setting. It makes more than sense that there are problems in the society. Also, the quality of the quests is equivalent to the ones in Fallout 3, since they had time to develop them all.

So glad to see some wise people here. New Vegas is the best of the new Fallouts by miles. Here's hoping Obsidian gets to make another one.

It's really hard to compare them to the originals though. I had loads of fun with 1 & 2 (I'm even in 2 :D) but they are just in a totally different class.

I always dislike posting my preferences on topics like this because there's always at least one person who feels compelled to debate my opinion, as if they're trying to change my mind about what I prefer and why. ;)

As for the blacklistings - don't sweat it. People will blacklist for almost anything, and the more active you are, the more blacklists you'll acquire. ;)

There have only been two Fallout games I have not yet played (for the PC, that is). Fallout:NV (I have the Ultimate Edition installed, but haven't played it yet) and Fallout 4 (I'm waiting for the GOTY edition before purchasing it).

I chose Fallout 2 as my favourite, but I love every single Fallout game that I have played. Fallout 2 had a lot of choices, and I liked having the car to carry around all my extra loot. Thank goodness the trunk bug was patched, however! I do want to play it again once I get the Steam version, and I will also install the latest fan patch for it. I want to finally see what Sulik's quest to find his sister would be like!

I also liked Fallout a lot, but I remember the first time I ran out of time! Unfortunately, the engine had a hard "end" to it, which meant once you reached a certain date in the game, the game would end no matter what. I can't recall if they ever patched that out or not.

Fallout: Tactics was a really fun game. I like TBS games a lot, and this was a good one in that genre. The graphics were good, and there were a lot of weapons to choose from. I tended to use the Hummer as my vehicle of choice as it had good carrying capacity, decent armor rating, and it was a lot easier to move around the map during random encounters.

I've had a LOT of fun with Fallout 3 (GOTY edition), and I've also got plenty of really good mods added to it to freshen it up.

I haven't played the older Fallout titles, so I can't comment much on that. Regarding the newer ones, I think Fallout New Vegas takes the crown simply because the world is more refined and contains so many stories and lore compared to Fallout 3 and 4. It feels lively too. Fallout 4 definitely wins on the gunplay and combat but idk, it seems a little bit shallow for me. I paid ~$50 for and I still haven't finish the main storyline =.=' Perhaps I'll start again soon after they've released the GECK,

i hope the fallout series doesn't lose its rpg elements in favor of simpler more action oriented gameplay.
i think fallout 4 was a step in the wrong direction for mass appeal.

Er, Fallout lost role-playing several times before. Tactics, Shelter, Fallout 3, Fallout 4, That Game That We Never Speak Of… if you look more closely, there are three cRPGs in the franchise of eight (or four in twelve if you count the cancelled projects too).

i know, but now its losing the last bit of rpg blood it still has left.
the next game will be a fps game with v.a.t.s
i also don't count tactics and shelter.

Tactics/BOS /Shelter are spin of games. The only "real" fallout game that have fucked up the RPG in a major way is F4. F3 was kinda bad but it still worked.. Kinda.

Fallout 1 is great all around.
Fallout 2 got more and better gameplay but is silly compared to F1
Fallout tactics is a great action game but not a good Fallout and a bad RPG.. If you can even call it that? I still love it tho!
Fallout 3 got some shitty story/writing but the map is great and with a few mods i did enjoy it quite a bit.
Fallout new vegas is the best overall IF you use a lot of mods!
Fallout 4 is a let down for me. It's not as bad as some say but it's like they don't want Fallout to be an rpg anymore and the story/writting is mostly laughable.

So.. Fallout 2 i guess? Since i spent way more time in that game compared ot the rest.

Fallout New Vegas is quite good, and can be absolutely amazing with mods (at least for my taste).

Fallout 4 has improved mechanics, but I hate the leveled world... And you can't really roleplay like in other games of the type. As in you're told who you are, how you are, how you think, what you did for a living, who your family was, why you got into a vault, etc... there isn't much space for you to use your imagination and be however you might want to be. Also, the simplified dialogue and quest paths that force you to be a good guy...

I haven't played the others enough to have a proper opinion, but a very heavily modded playthrough of New Vegas was one of the best gaming experiences I've ever had.
